Whitney Houston's funeral will be held at noon on Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, according to Carolyn Whigham, the owner of the Whigham Funeral Home.

The body of pop superstar Whitney Houston arrived late Monday at the New Jersey funeral home handling her arrangements, borne by a hearse and escorted by police.

The body arrived at Teterboro Airport and was taken to Whigham Funeral Home in Newark. A large crowd was gathered at the funeral home. Cissy Houston, the singer's mother, was waiting inside, police said.

Whitney was an African American woman who had trials but successfully rose out of addiction to return to what she loved...her family, church, her art and her music. Please remember that people can change...they can grow. I am proud of her for maturing and being strong for her daughter and her mother. The media should raise her image up and portrait her as an outstanding artist...actress and vocalist. They should not perpetuate old stories and bad mistakes. We all go thru some sort of challenges in our lives....good or bad. Its the phoenix that rises...Whitney was a phoenix who rose, shaken yes...but definitely not broken. Please consider her mother and her daughter and not tear her down...for she was our American artist...a tribute to the artistry of the American culture that the world respects...she was human, like you and I.

Thats where you are wrong. She exchanged one addiction for another. She was a pill popping boozer. She never full recovered.

This is so sad! I knew this would happen in my lifetime, but never thought it would happen so soon! Whitney Houston was a human being w/an extraordinary voice & should be remembered as such! Let her be buried by her loved 1s, before the bashing begins on this thread! Thanks!!

help me please A SIMPLE QUESTION ?

sat. morning is a private family & and "CLOSE FRIENDS" only funeral for the late great Whitney

after confirmed eye witnessed reports this morning of her being loud , annoyingly drunk before 10 a.m. pool side at her hotel and numerous hotel guest complaints and this is BEING before going to her close friends pre Grammy party and as witnesses now say her so called close friends not only allowed her but assisted her in a stupor of a champagne binge ? but these close so called friends then went on every news channel this week to say she was fine ?

    MY QUESTION IS

HOW DO THESE SO CALLED CLOSE FRIENDS APPROACH WHITNEY'S MOM AT THAT FUNERAL TO GIVE A HEARTFELT SINCERE CONDOLENCE ?

pretend friends that attach themselves for personal status or personal gain are lethal ! TO YOU

GOT REAL FRIENDS ?..... IF YOU DO TELL EM ""TODAY"' ....YA LOVE UM !

I never realized the depth of her voice until after hearing of her death and hearing her songs on the radio stations – she truly had a sensational voice that we were blessed to have heard.

I was lying on my couch tired and bored when Whitney Houston came on performing the song , You give good Love,She was amazing , I just had to sit up and drink it all in . I fell instantly in Love with Her beauty and her amazing voice. She also posessed a sweet disposition , It was a pleasure to watch her smile while the Camera Man filmed her performance. One of the best performances I have/ will ever see.
I will never forget you lovely Lady .
    Rest In Peace !! Amen
