Houston funeral preparations under way at New Jersey church

Preparations were under way Thursday for the private, invitation-only funeral of pop superstar Whitney Houston at the New Jersey church where she sang as a child.

Metal barricades were being erected around a tribute area in front of New Hope Baptist Church, where fans of Houston were leaving balloons, candles and photographs of the singer.

Inside, funeral directors met with members of the Newark, New Jersey, police, who will provide security for the event, said police Sgt. Ronald Glover.

And who cares about what you think? Yes, we all aspire to be a great singer, winning many awards, doing tons of drugs, and throwing it all away. Just the life we all have always wanted.

Maybe now Whitney can rest away from those of us who live PERFECT lives! Away from those who have never done anything wrong. She faced her demons. The Bible say judge not but so many people just refuse to believe God's word. None of us know how we're gonna die! I don't think Whitney knew she'd die in the manner in which she did! Had she not been WHITNEY HOUSTON the singer/actress, nobody would care. What about the countless people who die in a manner similar to the way she did? What if it were YOUR mother, sister, aunt, cousin, best friend? The woman died JUST like we all are gonna die! There's no way around it and just like Whitney we ALL are gonna stand before God and give an account for every thing we say and do! We're also gonna give an account for what we didn't do and what we didn't say! We beat up on her enough from day 1! Let her Rest In Peace.

Shameful comments! Whitney had problems just like everyone else. Those of you making negative comments need to remember that she had a daughter and mother who are really grieving. Furthermore she is not getting as much publicity as Elvis Presley....

What is wrong with you people? This is a human being we are speaking of a mother&daughter of someone! How can you be so cruel with some of your comments? How would you feel being spoke about like that after you pass away?

Don`t recall u people making these cruel insensitve comments about ur beloved Anna Niclole Smith. she gave new meaning to high as a freaking kite. this is just boiling down to simply racist hate. yes, she made some very bad choices, but we don't really know what caused he death. she most likely had a heart attack due to the fact that two loud thumps were heard just minutes after she got done talking to her mom at 3:20p.m . that makes more sense especially if she was sitting on the deck of tub to fall backwards and struggle but we all know when that pain hits we grab our chest and lose our composure. but yall 2 darn smart to put the puzzle together.
