Coalition: Quran burning at Afghan base "a mistake"

Some Qurans and other Islamic religious materials gathered for disposal from a detention facility at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan were improperly burned, the commander of the International Security Assistance Force said Tuesday.

"This was not a decision that was made because they were religious materials," Gen. John Allen said. "It was not a decision that was made with respect to the faith of Islam. It was a mistake. It was an error. The moment we found out about it, we immediately stopped and we intervened."

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside the airfield Tuesday, furious over reports of the burning.

Sorry BOMBO, lack of respect ALWAYS bothers me! That is NOT our country, nor does anyone have the right to dictate religious beliefs to another person. You wouldnt want someone dictating to YOU that you should believe as they do would you?

It just amazes me, all these enlightened folks blaming people for protesting burning of their holy book on their soil by foreigners.
I don't know what would happen if any of these elightened folks tried to burn copies of 'Bhagwat Geeta" in India or the Torah in Israel , that hasn't been tried before.

@banasy sure why not.they already force you to denounce christ in school.its ok for a sikh child to wear a dagger around his neck to school.even though a dagger is a weapon they use the first ammendment as an excuse to wear a weapon while using that very same ammendment to deny your child the right to wear a cross.a dagger doesnt need to be large to stab someone but i dont think its possible to crucify someone with a cross small enough to wear on your neck.what the heck?since its so wrong to burn a koran lets just burn the muslims and sikhs.at least i wont have to worry about being stabbed to death by a terrorist with his religous symbol.

since the whole world wants to force me to denounce christ and at the same time tell me its wrong to burn a koran i think it would be a good idea to fatten up islam with pork for every meal and burn muslims instead of fossil fuel.

    Let me rephrase.
What would you say/do/think if you heard that a Muslim accidently burned the Bible?
I know how much you hate Muslims.
That is not what I asked.
Focus on the question I asked you.
    Thank you.

CNN shouldn't let use their platform by these bigoted and anti human and anti religious statements just like they don't support use of anti Semitic remarks by anyone ,should we develop the term anti gentile for any other who use hatred towards others religions and treat others religion fairly if not equal ,please supervise your site more so we don't feel that you passively support otherwise

I feel sorry for folks like @hamsta.
Dragging Sikhs into a subject that doesn't concern them. Yes their dagger 'Kirpan' is a sacred symbol of their religion but that is besides the point.
And for your information @ hamsta muslims are the only people on this planet besides Christians who revere Jesus Christ. Jesus is considered a holy prophet of God in Quran. The miracle of his birth" Immaculate Conception", miracles of his chilhood and during his ministry are described in Quran. He is mentioned 40 times in Quran.
Their is a whole chapter devoted to Holy Mary who is described as the most exalted among women. They believe in
    His Second Coming.

@ Hassan, as much as i agree with both your posts, im afraid they are falling on deaf ears to those that need to hear it. There are none so deaf, as those that REFUSE to hear.
