North Korea has agreed to a moratorium on nuclear activity at Yongbyon, its major nuclear facility, the U.S. State Department said Wednesday. North Korea also has agreed to a moratorium on long-range missile launches.
The announcement came Wednesday after a U.S. delegation returned from Beijing following a third exploratory round of bilateral talks.
In a statement, the State Department said the United States "still has profound concerns regarding North Korean behavior across a wide range of areas" but that today’s announcement "reflects important, if limited, progress in addressing some of these."
Z 2k is right, look, this Great Prez & his Administration really get thing done by thinking outside the box. God Bless Hillary & co. The fact that we can stop kids from starving to death, yes, I KNOW their not Americans is a very Special thing. All these other yahoos running fpr Prez, never, ever think about this stuff, Its called DIPLOMATIC stadegy. God Bless The Prez & Hillary & Co. They truely make our Country & the world better & safer!
Invite this guy to a hot dog eating contest or chicken wings contest. He would be in 7th heaven. Of course our State Department would never think of soemthing like that. They are all brain dead.
Whereas inviting them to a hot-dog eating contest is the soundest diplomatic policy I have ever heard.
Well done.
Yeesh.
That's the most senseless comment I've ever read.
He's thinking of Takeru Kobayashi of Nagano, Japan, who won a Nathan's contest a few years back....because stereotyping anything Asian is *fun*. right?
Yo banasy, I agree 100%. When young leaders get involved, Its not always business as usual, We get acess to their nukes & feed starving children. If that is not a true blessing than I dont know what is. Again, God bless The Prez & Hillary & co.
Thnks, Dave.
I agree!
I would be more afraid of Iran's nukes than nk's nukes. at least nk knows there is no paradise when you die!!
@norm: yeah, who cares if a country we have a ceasefire and dmz with has nuclear missiles that can reach the west coast.. what about tel aviv?
Just one question where are they going to get power for their homes? You just took 5MW if energy off the market. I think this will delay the inenvitable. You should have let them keep the plant with a permanent team of inspectors. They get power, food, and you sneak in entertainment and they are content to be couch potatos. Now if you want to creat a coup then be prepared for a coup more intense than Libya or Syria.
@jesse: couch potatoes don't coup..
Its a good start for a new leader, looking out for his people and the US should let him know that we can help and protect them, the world knows have nukes and you will be safe... they all learn from AMERICA AND RUSSIA-
Some Repubs on here make me laugh. For so many years, we have dealt with a unilateral foreign policy that GWB used to NO advantage whatsoever for us, ESPECIALLY FAILING when it comes to N Korea. Now these Tea Baggers want to complain about N Korea doing this to us constantly when it is the fault of their BRAINIAC leader GWB in the first place.
May God help our country because we need it with these people living amongst us.
Suggestion:
Anyone who voted for GWB twice should be deported to N. Korea immediately.
As soon as they get all their food deliveries, it will go back to business as usual.
You guys really love this media crap. Nothing will change there. Mark my words
POTUS Bill Clinton already tried this. N. Korea laughed all the way to the Bank.
@ steve , No more firewater for You.
