North Korea approves missile, nuclear curbs, U.S. says

North Korea has agreed to a moratorium on nuclear activity at Yongbyon, its major nuclear facility, the U.S. State Department said Wednesday. North Korea also has agreed to a moratorium on long-range missile launches.

The announcement came Wednesday after a U.S. delegation returned from Beijing following a third exploratory round of bilateral talks.

In a statement, the State Department said the United States "still has profound concerns regarding North Korean behavior across a wide range of areas" but that today’s announcement "reflects important, if limited, progress in addressing some of these."

Kim Jong-Un will curb his nuclear ambitions because he wants to continue to receive his lobsters and champagne.

It makes me so sad to take this story and turn it into blame on anyone for anything. Who CARES who's fault it is that this didn't happen earlier, who CARES if a Republican or Democrat thinks this or that. NK just agreed to calm the hell down for a few minutes. That's a victory for the whole world. So just enjoy it.

North Korea, Pakistan and O. J. have equal credibility. None. Zero, nada, nothing. North Korea is just playing a game: creating a crisis and getting something of need in return for ending the crisis. Until the next time when the cycle starts over again. Deja vu.

Wouldn't it be great if Kim Jong-Un isn't the paranoid , schitzsophrenic personality that his fater was. If he didn't rely on brinksmanship to minipulate his way though the world around him. If he just asked what can I do to make the world better for my people, rather than for me. Of course, the only worthwhile career in No. Korea is in the military, and the military always has to have a purpose to justify it's existence. And so they will probably always want to have an enemy, and that leaves just two : So. Korea and the USA.

Looks like they are laughing and having fun while having machinations of where to shoot nuclear missiles. It looks like a party to me.

How many times have we heard this story in the past. The North Koreans will get what they want and then will start up with their crap again. You can't trust them any further than you can throw them.

Ok, so NK smiles and says ....we will max our nukes to so much.....ok lets say 60% less.... now we
have 40 % nukes that can wipe out a country 10 times...big f....deal!! Same with all the countries
including the USA that has them.....MAD is now not a deterrent but a real possibility we WILL mutually
destroy ourselves unless we make 0 the number of nukes....but who will start 1st?
No one will.....so hello nuclear winter soon....hello insanity, goodbye fields of green grass!

Can we wait until he actually reneges before the rhetoric?
I understand the skepticism, but that was the old regime...
Don't we all hope for a change for the better when WE have an administation change?
