Band yells racial chant at player during NCAA tournament

A university president apologized after members of a school's band yelled "where's your green card" at a Hispanic player during a NCAA basketball tournament game Thursday.

The incident was captured by television cameras and occurred during the Southern Mississippi and Kansas State game at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

As Kansas State point guard Angel Rodriguez shot free throws several people can clearly be heard saying the green card chant.

Rodriguez did not change his expression during the chants and helped push Kansas State to a victory by scoring 13 points.

How is that chant racial? I am not a U.S citizen, but lived in the U.S. for 12 years. I was asked this question numerous times, and never felt racially insulted.

Unemployment numbers are comprised of those that are in the job market for the past 30 days. It does not include those that have not been in the job market in the last 30 days: people who have given up looking; those that have gone off unemployment because it has run out. One solution to unemployment is High Speed Universities check it out

s kel is a first-class person who has made a substantial contribution to society at great risk and cost to his personal health. I value his opinion whenever he expresses it.

Here's something funny, in a tragic way! I'm white, Scandinavian & have a green card, but my boyfriend who is 4th generation Mexican, born in the US & has always been a citizen, is the 1 who gets the "greencard"question! People are actually surprised to hear I'm not a citizen & it would not even be an issue if I didn't call their attention to it! I could check the "Citizen" box on every application I've ever filled out & no1 would be the wiser! Meanwhile people are saying horrible things such as "dirty, lazy, living off the government, go back to Mexico" to people like my boyfriend, whos family lived here before Tx was a state! It's like a Hispanic "free-for-all" w/the racial slurs, because that's the mindset of too many in this nation right now! That's tragic!!

fernace, when millions of Scandinavians invade the country by illegal "immigration" you will be called out too.
So far, that doesn't seem to be a problem.
