More suspensions could be coming in the New Orleans Saints bounty scandal and this time NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says he's focusing on punishments for players.
"Before I make any decisions I would like to hear from the players," Goddell said Monday at the football league's annual meeting in Florida.
Goddell would not give a timetable of when the punishments would come, saying he wanted to talk to the NFL Players Association first.
wouldn't it be halarious after all these penalties: lopping off the head of the team, make each player tie both shoes together with strings with every play, use of one arm only and blind-folded every game, the saints would still come from behind and win the superbowl???
Well if they're really trying to hurt people, I'm wearing a helmet and pads from now on.
SAD, SAD, SAD: These men (boys) are playing a game, and making vast amounts of money, in a sport that many of us dream about playing. IF just ONE player would have knocked the heck out of the person making this offer it would have stopped it in its tracks! The commissioner needs to act quickly and suspend/fine those players that participated in this vile action, to include those who knew and did nothing to stop it!
Believe me, Goodell will come down hard with suspensions on any players he thinks were breaking the rules. The strict penalties already given out to management are an indication of this.
I heard a recording on the New York Daily News today of Gregg Williams, the former New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator, telling his players to seriously injury the San Francisco 49ers before a playoff game. It was revolting - "Kill the head, the body will die." The guy doesn't just need to be suspended from football, he needs to be arrested.
