Syria accepts peace plan, U.N. official says

The Syrian government has accepted U.N. envoy Kofi Annan's plan to forge peace and end violence, Annan's spokesman said on Tuesday.

Annan has offered Syria a six-point plan - supported by the U.N. Security Council - as a way to halt the violence.

The proposal seeks to stop the violence and the killing, give access to humanitarian agencies, release detainees, and start an inclusive political dialogue to address the legitimate aspirations and concerns of the Syrian people, according to a U.N. statement.

Fantastic! All this bloodshed for months and months and six little points is going to put an end to it. Amazing!

Fine, as long as one of those points is timely prosecution for war crimes committed by Bashar Assad and his henchmen. There is no coming back from 8,000+ murders.

Assad is probably not stupid. If there's any hint that he'll be arrested or tried, the deal will be off and killing will start again. He saw what happened in Egypt. And if he's going to be tried and hung, he may as well take others with him.

We can all hope, but deep down we know this whole thing is bogus, and Assad is just stalling from some reason.
Just like North Korea and Iran.

Nonsense! These bloody men only know war! That "Arab Spring" is only the preparations of those nations to join with Antichrist and march on Israel. Any other view is vanity and ego-stroking by puffed up fools.

Hate to break it to ya, but Jews don't believe in Christ. The anti-Christ will attack people who do. Personally, I don't think the anti-Christ will come in form of a person or nation of people, but as a law or condition under which Christians will be persecuted and slaughtered.

      Just sayin...

There is a 7th point not revealed....

Kofi whispered to Assad before leaving " You better take our 6 points or we'll let Obama come and deal with you...Navy seal style .."

    End transmission.

The Syrian authorities and the UN should not be trusted by the opposition. The murderous Assad regime, along with their sponsors of terror Russia, China, and Iran will get away with all the atrocities they have committed or helped commit. People of Syria do not believe their lies!

"Peace" plan calls for Syrian Government to stop shelling for 2hrs each day so the wounded can be evacuted. Its not a peace plan.....its a reloading plan.

Well of course they did. Now that Russia and the US have worked out a deal that ultimately ends in the further isolation of China in a covert way. US goods will begin flowing into Russia as soon as later this year when the bill barring such things is repealed in Congress. This whole Middle East and Africa thing is all about getting China out and shoring up natural resources. That's it, period.

I must have missed the part where you came up with a solution to all of the slaughter instead of some armchair bs rhetoric.
