Multiple fatalities in shooting at California college, Oakland police say
[Updated at 3:32 p.m. ET] A suspect in the shooting was taken into police custody, police spokeswoman Johnna Watson said.
[Posted at 3:21 p.m. ET] A shooting at Oikos University in East Oakland, California, has resulted in multiple fatalities, a spokeswoman for the Oakland police said Monday.
Oakland Fire Department Deputy Chief James Williams said there are several ambulances on the scene and officials are assessing the situation.
"The shooter is still at large," spokeswoman Johnna Watson said. "We are interviewing the witnesses right now to try to determine if this person is known to them."

I think the facts show what I'm getting at, control the gun's of the criminals, not everyone. If one of the people killed in Oakland had a gun to protect himself, not saying everyone should carry because some people are not mentally capable, probability of the amount of deaths would have been lower

I'm a responsible Gun Owner and I believe that stricter gun laws are only hurting the ones most who are responsible gun owners. All these who do bad things typically get the gun over a friend or a parent did not lock up their guns correctly. I hate to see stories like that, don't get me wrong. But to put stricter laws out and so on will not be much effective. I would say that an each school requires a security staff. Not only because of incidents like this one, more of terrorist who would go to a school and do harms like that one. The last story in french is the same,.. their gun laws are very strict but it made no difference ..... so security needs to be beefed up.
