Gotta Watch: Former child stars against Kirk Cameron

Several of Kirk Cameron’s fellow child stars are now lashing back for comments he made about homosexuals. In March he told CNN’s Piers Morgan that homosexuality is unnatural, detrimental and ultimately destructive to many of the foundations of civilization. He also stars in newly released  documentary where he speaks out on the topic. In a new Funny or Die clip, members of a group calling itself Child Celebrities Opposing Kirk Cameron, or CCOKC, try to poke holes in Cameron’s theories.

Cameron: 'Homosexuality is unnatural'

Kirk Cameron believes homosexuality is unnatural, detrimental and ultimately destructive to foundations of civilization. Hear more of his thoughts on the matter.

Former child stars lash back at Cameron

Several of Kirk Cameron's fellow former child stars do not support Kirk's stance on homosexuality and same-sex marriages. A group calling itself Child Celebrities against Kirk Cameron, or CCOKC challenged Cameron. Here's a little bit of what they had to say in their "Funny or Die" clip.

Comments on homosexuality spark debate

George Takei and Stephen Baldwin square off on Kirk Cameron's comments on homosexuality and the gay marriage debate. Baldwin supports Cameron. Takei says Cameron's beliefs have no place in the laws that govern the country.

Kirk Cameron is a clown with an imaginary friend. How is it that a clown with an imaginary friend can "spark a debate" about anything? All I can do is laugh at him.

Kirk Cameron should make like his career, and fade into nothingness

Actually, you are quite wrong Murray. Cameron's movies make quite a bit of money and he is a well-known in the Christian community. You go ahead and mock...we'll see who "fades" in the future.

Don't mock his beliefs. Hes stating what he honestly believes. How quickly liberals can mock someone's belief in God when they don't agree with something they say.

Sadly, 'tis so. All can speak their minds...unless they are a Christian.

I can admire Cameron for standing up for what he believes in, however, when what he believes is harming others or denying people the same rights as others, then we shouldn't be tolerant of that. We should mock hate speech and that is exactly what is coming from him. Just because it comes from a book some consider sacred doesn't make it any better. You can find verses that command the murder of unbelievers and disobedient children in the bible. Does that mean that we should say it is ok for someone to tell people to follow those verses?

Oh please. Just because his beliefs come from a book you happen to agree with, Kirk Cameron's beliefs are beyond reproach? Forget the fact that like all Christians, Kirk Cameron picks and chooses which pieces of the Bible are worth adhering to. The fact is the Bible is full of ridiculous garbage that nobody pays any attention to. Picking such hateful nonsense to take to heart shows just how worthless people like Kirk Cameron really are.

@J77ike... You shouldn't categorize every liberal as disagreeing with Kirk. I'm an independent, and I totally agree with Kirk!

its actually kirk cameron that is unnatural, someone should slap him up side the head with one of those huge old testiment bibles ... might knock some sense into him. the only reason he spouts off crap like this is when he was 16 they put a hot blonde on his show and the only way she would marry him is if he became ultra christian. good going man, chased that tail and got it but lost your soul and respect in the process.

Christians are told in Revelation to hold their heads up because their deliverance is getting near. It does not tell Christians to go out and try to stop prophecy by trying to impose a theocracy upon a democracy. God will establish his kingdom when He is ready. Many things we see today are part of the prophecies involving where mankind stands in the stream of time. The first century Christians did not get involved with trying to legislate morality - their job was to preach about the coming Kingdom of God, which included peacefully going from door to door to share information with interested persons only. Their job did not include getting involved in the civil rights issues of the nations and telling the "superior authorities" how to govern themselves in matters of morality. Chrisians got involved with governments only if their rights to preach were hindered. I am a Christian and believe that God is not going to redefine marriage. Therefore, I am not threatened if the secular governments choose to do so, and it simply isn't my business or my job to try to stop it. All a Christian can do is state what the scriptural admonition is to persons who are interested. However, in a democracy, freedom of religion includes not only the right to worship as one chooses, but it also means the right not to worship. First century Christians did not try to impose their way of worship on the secular authorities or their fellow citizens. Their prayer was for the Kingdom to come and God's will to take place on earth as in heaven. Notice that God's will would not take place until the Kingdom comes, yet many people today who profess to be Christian get that part of the "Lord's Prayer" backwards and try to impose the Kingdom themselves on their own secular governments, before God's due time, and against God's instruction.

@Moonbeam....some of what you say sounds foolish! The Word of GOD says, to go preach the gospel throughout the land! Kirk Cameron was asked about it, so he stood on biblical principals in his response. He also preach what the bible says, whoever listens will come to JESUS, whoever doesn't he do not put a gun to their heads! So, Moonbeam he isn't do anything wrong! I totally agree with his statement!
