A photo of Pippa Middleton showing her in a car with a man wielding what appears to be a gun in France is causing an uproar after its publication in the UK newspaper The Sun.
Paparazzi were taking pictures of Prince William's sister-in-law, who was in the passenger seat of a black Audi convertible as she was headed to a train station in Paris. The driver of the car wielded a gun, apparently pointing it in the air and then toward a photographer, who was following them and captured the shot, according to The Sun. It is unclear whether the gun was real or fake.
CNN's Matthew Chance reported he spoke to lawyers who said while it is unlikely that Middleton would face any charges unless it could be proved she encouraged the driver to point the gun on public streets, the driver could face charges of threatening with a firearm if French authorities wanted to do so.
The photographer who snapped the shot was "considering his options" about a formal police complaint, The Sun reported.
Middleton is the sister of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, who married Prince William last year. William is second in line to the British throne behind his father, Prince Charles.
Buckingham Palace told Chance it would not comment on the photo because Middleton is not a member of the royal family.
The photo is causing a stir, in part because there have been problems with gun violence in France recently, including an attack last month that killed seven people, including four children.
The incident took place while security was being heightened ahead of France's presidential election.
Considering that Britain lost one princess that way, perhaps a loaded gun should be part of the honor guard for any royal family member, and a pointed camera just as threatening as a pointed gun, especially when accompanied by a motor car. Leave the girl alone.
SHE IS NOT A ROYAL - dufus
She is not part of the royal family.
So what if they did point a gun at the paparazzi. It's like that colony of bacteria qualify as people.
Maybe he wouldn't be showing the gun if they weren't following them so much. Leave her alone, She's not even a member of the royal family. Haven't they learned from Diana?
Everybody run - the prom queen's got a gun!
Dufus?? Really JEH? You need to get back on your meds.....
I'm not surprised they are upset. He did not drop the gun, how Un-French is that?
It would have been her bodyguard. Lady Di was killed as a result of pursuing photographers, it is absolutely appropriate for Royal family bodyguards to point a gun at anyone pursuing their protected targets at high speed. They do not know you are not a terrorist and a moron with a camera already killed lady Di. Their bodyguards are under orders to do this so enough of this nonsense about charging the guy with the gun. Quit chasing Royal Family around France like your on a damned racetrack.
Obviously a pellet pistol. Cars are a lot more dangerous. Arrest people for "brandishing cars in public" instead.
I like those two guns on her chest.
This is news?
I fail to see the problem with shooting people who follow you around 24/7 with a camera.
She is basically trash who got lucky to be associated with royalty. Trash is always a trash not a royal. Lesson for people do not marry into trashy family as you will end up trash. marry into your own kind
Wow, see you got seconds at the pretentious buffet...
Wealth doesn't make people better or worse, just wealthier.
Here's a thought, get rid of royalty all together.
The media once again has blown this all out of proportion. She is not a royal, she is a private citizen. I don’t understand why this is news. In the U.S., on the morning world news, the newscaster started out with this story (Hello) and slanted the story so bad they had us believing that it might be real gun and that Pippa and her friends could face charges and jail time. Then finally the newscaster let us know that it was not a real gun and the Paris police said they had no intention of charging or her companions. This is a perfect example of news just trying to get ratings about something that is so so so unnews worthy.
Bad publicity even if she is not part of the royal family next thing with be other prank drivers pulling out guns well its only a laugh ! Isnt it ? NO !!!!!
