George Zimmerman's attorney to ask for bond

An attorney will ask a Florida judge Friday to allow George Zimmerman to post bond despite ongoing concerns about his safety amid a national uproar over his role in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

Zimmerman went into hiding immediately following the February 26 shooting of the unarmed, black teen after the case sparked a heated, national debate over racial profiling and saw thousands of protesters demand his arrest.

"There have been a lot of emotions that have come forward in this case, and some of those emotions have shown themselves in bad ways," defense lawyer Mark O'Mara said this week about his client's well-being.

Zimmerman, 28, surrendered to authorities after being charged with second-degree murder in connection with Martin's death.

Martin's family contends Zimmerman racially profiled their son, who was walking back from a convenience store in Sanford.

    Enough!
Too much of the Trayvon affair already!
Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have gotten their attention, and USA citizens' attention has been diverted from the disaster of our enti-
tlement-based economy long enough for the White House to address our national debt without criticism.
    What news is there?

NO. Keep him in jail to await his trial! If released it will cost the taxpayer $$$ to protect him.

If ya let Zimmerman out on bond,he'll never make the court date. He's got a price on his head and in todays economy people would hunt him down instantly for the bounty set on him. He's better off staying in a minimum security cell till the court date. It's also cheaper for the state, who would be ultimately responsible for his safety, guilty or not.24/7 police protection, that's expensive that's rpaid with tax payer dollars.I'm not paying for that, let him rot,he did it and everyone including his financial backer NRA,knows it....

    An Atheist
An atheist was walking through the woods one day in Alaska, admiring all that evolution had created. "What majestic trees! What a powerful river! What beautiful animals!" he said to himself. As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. Turning to look, he saw a 13-foot Kodiak brown bear beginning to charge towards him. He ran as fast as he could down the path. He looked over his shoulder and saw that the bear was rapidly closing on him. Somehow, he ran even faster, so scared that tears came to his eyes. He looked again and the bear was even closer. His heart pounding in his chest, he tried to run faster yet. But alas, he tripped and fell to the ground. As he rolled over to pick himself up, the bear was right over him, reaching for him with its left paw and raising its right paw to strike him.

    "OH MY GOD! ..."

    Time stopped.

    The bear froze.

    The forest was silent.

Even the river stopped moving ...

As a brilliant light shone upon the man, a thunderous voice came from all around...

"YOU DENY MY EXISTENCE FOR ALL THESE YEARS, TEACH OTHERS THAT I DON'T EXIST AND EVEN CREDIT CREATION TO SOME COSMIC ACCIDENT. DO YOU EXPECT ME TO HELP YOU OUT OF THIS PREDICAMENT? AM I TO COUNT YOU AS A BELIEVER?"

Difficult as it was, the atheist looked directly into the light and said, "It would be hypocritical to ask to be a Christian after all these years, but perhaps you could make the bear a Christian?"

    "VERY WELL." Said God.

    The light went out.

    The river ran.

The sounds of the forest resumed.

... and the bear dropped down on his knees, brought both paws together, bowed his head and spoke: "Lord, thank you for this food which I am about to receive."

Two storks are sitting in their nest: a father stork and baby stork. The baby stork is crying and crying and father stork is trying to calm him. "Don't worry, son. Your mother will come back. She's only bringing people babies and making them happy."

The next night, it's father's turn to do the job. Mother and son are sitting in the nest, the baby stork is crying, and mother is saying "Son, your father will be back as soon as possible, but now he's bringing joy to new mommies and daddies."

A few days later, the stork's parents are desperate: their son is absent from the nest all night! Shortly before dawn, he returns and the parents ask him where he's been all night.

The baby stork says, "Nowhere. Just scaring the crap out of college students!"

    @ ronvan
It would definitely be a good start. The unfortunate thing, is this tragedy should have never happened, and if Zimmerman had followed the intructions of the 911 dispatcher, not to follow Trayvon, it never 'would' have happened.

Leave it to our bobcat (Iah) to inject humor in this Zimmerman mess. I can't believe Zimmerman was offered bond for cold blooded murder of this child. The only reason Zimmerman apologized is because he got caught in his web of lies and the only person he is sorry for is himself.

no, he did not apologized he said he "felt sorry for the family"...that has a different contextual meaning from having contrition for one's acts...to me shows lack of remorse and sardonic pity...

n order to enhance public opinion of a new crowd control technology, the US military has been showcasing a new weapon it has nicknamed the "pain ray".

The high-tech system cost more than $120m to develop and was deployed in Afghanistan two years ago. It was recalled, however, due to concerns about the public perception that the military would be "microwaving" Afghans
