CNN identifies key figure in Secret Service scandal

[Updated at 6:16 p.m. ET] The Secret Service agent at the center of the Colombia prostitution scandal has been identified as Arthur Huntington, sources with knowledge of the investigation told CNN on Friday.

According to the sources, Huntington was the agent in a seventh-floor hotel room in Cartagena who had a dispute over pay with an escort.

CNN also learned that Huntington has now left the Secret Service.

Also Friday, the Secret Service distributed new rules for its agents on assignment intended to prevent a repeat of such alleged misconduct, according to two government sources familiar with the resulting investigation.

  5. Always pay the lady

The one time someone associated with Obama doesn't charge their vacation expenses to the taxpayers, it brings down the secret service. Now that's irony; someone inform Morrissette.

No I don't blame Obama for this...don't think he's a very good president but not foolish enough to blame him for everyone's poor judgement... And no I'm not a republican...but not a democrat either...try to think for myself

Actually, he wasn't the same guy; it was me. No, I think George W. Bush was the worst president ever...until now. I hate both parties and their followers equally for destroying thisn ation by living in a bipolar world that always gives the same result. I feel sorry for all of you. Obama is an unmitigated disaster and Romney in 2012 or whoever in 2016 takes his place, will make it even worse. But no worries is not me and I am not him. Hope that clears it up.

Its really no ones business WHERE they put their ding-dings. Its the WHEN that is the issue. They were supposed to be there in official capacity.

To me the biggest issue here is that the bubble of protection starts about 24 hours before presidential touch down. In 1963 JFK's SS guys were at a strip club owned by JAck Ruby until around 5 in the morning. That's a fact and not a conspiracy theory. Some of his agents were at the least hung over a few hours later as they protected him. Throw in the fact they were in a place owned by a member of the Dallas underworld, it was a huge security breach. Was it boys being boys? Yes, but we will never know how much of an issue that night was the next day. The fact is their behavior in Columbia recently was negligent and put their protectee at risk. All around this could have turned out far worse.
