An Indiana mother who sent her gay son to school with a stun gun after administrators apparently didn't do enough to stop the bullying against him said she would do it again - even though the teen now faces expulsion.
"I do not promote violence - not at all - but what is a parent to do when she has done everything that she felt she was supposed to do ... at the school?" the mother, Chelisa Grimes, told CNN's Don Lemon on Sunday. "I did feel like there was nothing else left for me to do, but protect my child."
The school district held an expulsion hearing last week but no decision has been announced.
Grimes sent her son, Darnell "Dynasty" Young, to Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis with the stun gun after he said he was taunted and bullied for months.
FULL STORY
Living here and being a product of IPS maybe I can shed a little light on this story. Mickey1313, going by Indiana law (IC35-47 chapter 8) stun weapons, tasers and stun guns are all weapons and are also connected to the deadly weapons. It is a class B misdermeanor for any person under 18yoa to possess and te same for anyone who sells or furnishes one to a person under 18yoa. After reading all the stories here I keep seeing that in six months he could not identify a single "bully". These were his words not the schools. The one time a teacher saw a problem the "bully" was sent to the deans office and delt with. Again his words. Mom never came to the school, never went to the school board, never called the city police when he was attacked on his way home from work well after school hours. Yet she says she did all she could before giving him a stun gun to bring to school. Sounds a little odd to me. She also doesnt want children to lable her son but she labled a video on youtube "My GAY son dances in talent show". Really, she wants outsiders to treat her child better than she does.
