Jennifer Hudson's ex-brother-in-law found guilty of murder

A former brother-in-law of entertainer Jennifer Hudson was found guilty Friday afternoon of murder and other charges in connection with the 2008 slayings of Hudson's mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew.

William Balfour, who was tried in Chicago, faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Authorities accused Balfour of fatally shooting Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, 57, and the singer's brother, Jason Hudson, 29, in their Chicago home in October 2008. The body of Hudson's 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, was found three days later in an abandoned vehicle.

Prosecutors portrayed Balfour as a jealous man who killed the three people in a rage at the thought that his wife - Julia Hudson, who is Jennifer Hudson's sister - had a boyfriend.

He was found guilty of three counts of first degree murder and one count each of home invasion, residential burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, and aggravated kidnapping.

There is something about people killing because they were jealous that is similar to "honor" killings.
And not in a good way, either.

    This is big news here.
    Good.
I hope he gets the max penalty.
    What he did was vicious.

I hope it can give the family some measure of comfort, knowing this "man" will never see the light of day again.

I for one, would like to see this man come to truly know God as a result of his unfortunate choice to take not one but three lives. I believe Mrs. Hudson having some knowledge of God would want the same.

@Chrissy, banasy: Look in the mirror. Illinois has no death penalty. Democrat Governor Quinn signed legislation eliminating that sanction in 2011. Obama called his state senate successor, chief sponsor Sen. Kwame Raoul , to congratulate him on the legislation passing. This heinous murder occurred in the neighborhood where Obama community organized. Murder rates soared while he worked there, and Chicago remains three times as deadly as NYC and twice as deadly as LA.

Another democrat success story. You, and the minion army of like-minded libs, created this. That blood is partly on your hands.

1 "mans"rage ended 3 lives, including a child, who only had a chance to live 7 years & leaves an extended family to grieve for life! How does a person come to a conclusion that a horrific act like this is the right choice! How can you get that blinded by rage & illogical thinking!? It's the same question I have about the Tennessee kidnap/murder/suicide tragedy, or any case where humans go berzerk & do things like this! I understand why people break the law to aquire material things;they think it's a shortcut to hard work & I'd say that covers everything from the dude who robs the liquor store to the ponzi schemers! This kind of thing is just so unbelievable, unfathomable & excruciatingly un-necessary! I wish Jennifer Hudson & family Peace & Prayers & hopefully a little relief in Justice!!
