Russia blames deadly Syria attacks on 'outside forces'

Russia condemned the massive suicide bombings in Syria and accused outside nations of instigating violence to heighten the 14-month uprising that has left thousands dead.

The massive blasts Thursday left more than 50 people dead in a crowded Damascus neighborhood.

"Some countries are inciting outside forces to interfere into the Syrian situation, which is unacceptable," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said, according to Chinese state media.

Lavrov, in Beijing for talks with his Chinese counterpart, did not specify the countries.

Russia sounds a bit delusional! There's just the Syrian government fighting citizens who are fed up w/dictatorial rule & inhumane treatment! No outside forces involved!!

Russia needs to try to shift the focus from the Assad atrocities so their stewardship of the diplomatic process remains credible, but honestly I don't think they are fooling anybody.

Russia is moving backward... During Soviet times you could always expect the CCCP to back-up any bad guy... And after a short period of enlightenment, they have gone back to the 19th Century diplomacy of 'Real Politik' no matter how outdated that is.

Its sad to see a country with so much potential toss it away to serve the elite and some imagined image of global superiority.

Russia is just trying to justify their actions, or rather lack of, by trying to place the blame elsewhere!

Considering Russia has consistently voted against taking action to stop the bloodshed in Syria, their condemnation should be at themselves....what hypocrisy!

@Hide Behind,no its just Russias arrogence, much like their ex KGB chief Putin, they still think they run the European Block nations,as their own..And Putin is running against resistence in his own Russia because people don't want to go back living like they did before the cold war ended. They don't want sanctions, they want to act freely,no more obstructionistic communism to hinder their prosperity in this ever evolving world.Putin wants the "old Russia",the communist country that put fear in its citizens with his KGBs stormtroopers running rough shot over all citizens nationwide,no free speech, food lines, miltary presents everywhere,no anti- party rhetoric, curfews when needed to stem groups from organizing against anything Russian. That certainly would be the ultimite party of "NO" and no it doesn't get any better than that...They also don't like taking a backseat to America and our humanitarian stances, remember a scared ,hungry Russian,is a good Russian economicly and politically ,just speaking.

Yah right,Russia,Syrias biggest arms supplier saying outside sources, pretty good spin, are they republicans? They have been warned,as too China, to refrain from this conflict by Pres.Obama and the U.N. just recently with sanctions being applied to both if their involvement does not terminate immediately. How plain is that,Russia selling arms to Assad and China, sucking up to Syria for their oil, neither have any scruples in any humanitarian sense, turning a blind eye to innocent Syrians being slaughtered daily and just wanting what the butcher "Assad" has to buy or sell out in plain sight, for everyone globally to see.Such arrogence, much like his father,Assad has, keeping the lies fresh and never feeling any remorse for the civilian genocide he's creating with such a lack of reverence for the countries populus.I myself, believe in karma, knowing what goes around ,comes around ,that Assad and all involved will get their "JUST REWARD",be it by the Navy seals or something similar assasinating Assad and all involved or a complete military intervention.Their choice is theirs, and theirs alone in the near foreseeable future,it has to be done at all costs without any hast,Syrian lives are at stake.
