Over 3/4ths of the defense budget is spent on Military Enti tlements. They can't afford to wage wars with the remainder 20% budget, so the rob Social Security with impunity, no matter who POTUS you.

I hope everyone has a great day. The kids, Josh and I are all heading out in about 20 mins for the Renaissance Festival. I'm going to carry a few of Lee's things with me so he will be with us to. I'm looking forward to bringing home a bottle of wine and sitting down tonight and enjoying it. I'm also going to take the kids and go see the Scotty the fox show where Lee loved to sit.

    @ chrissy
This Defence bill besides adding 8 billion more to military spending has a far more scary implication which escapes most Americans. It authorizes US MILITARY to detain any person anywhere including Americans on American soil without showing cause or legal recourse, indefinitely.

Now mull this. The GOP driven House passed this bill along with a bill authorizing use of force against Iran. Making sure that from now on no one would be allowed to voice dissent against feeding MIC and wars etc.

Another disturbing news- CNN would though keep us involved in what goes on in those far off lands of 'others'. Protestors at the G-8 summit in Chicago were arrested on 'TERROR CHARGES' for protesting against NATO.
    Go figure folks.

EXACTLY saywhat! Finally, someone understands what im saying. Thank you! I dont think people understand that we would basicly be under MILITARY rule as most 3rd world countries! It also will affect the 20l0 treaty America has with Russia.

The bill also preserves ships and aircraft that the pentagon wanted to retire in a cost cutting move. Aircraft and ships that are no longer operational.

I would also like to add that presidential candidate Mitt Romney is also pushing for these increases in military spending. Should tell the American citizens exactly where his allegience really is, and its NOT with the citizens of the US!

I agree with you Chrissy. Obama will veto it but the fact that the dummies keep trying to make our national debt higher after they have spent the last 6 months complaining that we are spending too much. It's crazy that they even try to do something like this and that they think we the American people are stupid and don't understand what they are doing. I have faith in our President to do what he needs to do to rein these fools in.
