North Korea says it will 'expand' nuclear program in face of U.S. 'hostility'

North Korea has said it will press on with its nuclear program as a response to what it described as hostility from the United States after an analysis of satellite images indicated increased activity at its nuclear test site.

"We had access to nuclear deterrence for self-defense because of the hostile policy of the U.S. to stifle the DPRK by force and we will expand and bolster it nonstop as long as this hostile policy goes on," an unidentified spokesman for the North Korean Foreign Ministry said in a report Tuesday by the state-run Korean Central News Agency.

DPRK is short for Democratic People's Republic of Korea, North Korea's official name.

The top U.S. envoy for North Korea, Glyn Davies, warned Pyongyang on Monday that a possible third nuclear test would be "a serious miscalculation and mistake."

Well I can see there has been a whole lot of interest generated by this story. Could it be a giant case of SSDD ?
In other words people are obviously burnt out on N. Korea trying to get attention. They're like, hey Iran isn't the only country with nuclear ambitions, and if you don't pay attention to us, we'll set off another one of our firec rackers,

I know. There is so much emphasis being put Iran right now. Some of the Israeli generals are even saying they don't feel Iran is a threat. I guess it's a matter of the war making powers that be, know we are winding down on the unfunded wars and are looking for the next capital investment. Why pick on Iran when they have done nothing but repeated the same rhetoric as all other islamic countries in regards to Israel ?

@bobcat,its the same rhetoric all the time, they're going to do it because their little guys that are running that country, with an enormous ego says so.They both have chips on their shoulders of sorts, not being recognized as real "world powers" in this nuclear chess game played daily internationaly. They're just like little kids wanting to be heard,so they'll do anything to stir up trouble so everyone will turn around to eventually telling them calm down or time out,no supper for you!!!Treat them the same, these countries leaders really never had anyone of any significance stance up to them recently and explained what power we had and knowing well how to use it,being in Nagasaki and Hiroshima, two places we'd rather had left out in our militaty history.
