After lawsuits and arson, judge's ruling derails plans for Tennessee mosque

The long-running battle between a Tennessee Muslim community and a group of critics over a new mosque took a dramatic turn Tuesday when a judge ruled that construction had to halt.

"Everyone is really shocked, many people are crying about this," Imam Osama Bahloul, leader of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro, said early Wednesday morning. "We did exactly what other churches in the county did. We followed the same process that other churches did. Why did this happen? Some people feel like it is discrimination."

The judge, Chancellor Robert Corlew, ruled that plans for the new mosque that had previously been approved by a local planning commission were now "void and of no effect," CNN affiliate WTVF reported.

He said the planning commission violated state law by not providing proper public notice.

a prophecy...of chastisement...set by divine hand to scrouge christian nations and kingdoms for abandoning God: his statutes, decrees, and piety...the essence of the muslim heritage is a illegitimate one who wars against brother, neighbor, and nations and lastly an upsurper of true heirs...they will be permitted by divine providence to prevail as punishment of the people of God for their disobedience...it will be a tribulation ...every victory by the adversary against christendom will bring greater insolence and greater atrocities for they will be very puff up, harden of heart, stiff neck...so that justice maybe satisfied for the obstinate sins of men and their idoltry...if it was not for the mercy of God there would be no one left and what is alive would consider the dead blessed...but God's glory will shine...for the rod that chastises shall be broken and its stick that welt the kingdoms of God and His people of God shall be destroyed

"Our enemies lawlessnes makes a mockery of our principles'
Please let us know what lawlessness you refer to and what principles are being mocked. I always thought that lawlessnes has always been a part of our culture. Be it the past or the present.
And of course all law breakers are public enemies. So which enemies you are referring to in Tennessee?
That would make us understand your point better.

I go to inter-faith meetings arranged by all faiths, FBI routinely monitors mosques with informants. Muslim community, as admitted by Law Enforcement, co-operates fully. I have yet to come upon a report that a mosque like any other place of worship, is a terrorist political org.

"Some people feel like it's discrimination"! It feels that way, because It Is blatant discrimination! Muslims are part of America & have been for decades & should be able to live peacefully in any community & build their mosque to worship in! Please, people, does any1 truly believe that all Muslims are terrorists!? That's about as factual as saying all Christians are fundamental fanatics! Too many conspiracy theories are bad for mental health!!
