Syria responds: Foreign diplomats being expelled

Syria announced Tuesday it is expelling some diplomats from 11 countries, a week after those nations expelled Syrian officials in a coordinated response to a massacre and the government's violent crackdown on the opposition.

The move came as those countries looked for new ways to push for a halt in the violence, through the U.N. Security Council and other means.

And in Syria, an opposition group reported 24 people were killed Tuesday, and the government reported that three of its officers were assassinated.

Syria's Foreign Ministry said diplomats from the United States, Britain, Switzerland, Turkey, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany and Canada were being declared persona non grata.

    Some think this is a waiting game. But, it is a deadly game that has gone on for way too long. Assad is no better than a street thug who unleashes death and mayhem upon innocent men, women and children.

    This is the beginning of the end there...when diplomats are pulled and it's only a one way communication denying any wrongdoing, it's the start of a downfall in one way or another.

    Bashar is not the only player on that soil now. Outside forces from meddling countries are playing a high stake game there. The violence,death and mayhem can no more be pinned on one party.

      Say What:

      How about diplomacy? It hasn't worked – in fact, its made matters worse. War is what Assad has declared on his own people. Rarely does a day go by without his armies attacking cities and their citizens cry for help. Assad wants everyone to think he's fighting terrorists... but, Assad lies.

      Should a whole race of people fall in their own blood for one tyrants right to rule a people who are little more than slaves for him? How does a man serve two masters… one a king, the other his conscience? Take heart that when you seek out liberty, you don't find your family slaughtered, your home destroyed and an early grave.

      Trust me, war is not what they yearn for. There are times when safety is all one could ask for... this is one of those times.

    There's this old priest who got sick of all the people in his parish who kept confessing to adultery. One Sunday, in the pulpit, he said, "if I hear one more person confess to adultery, I'll quit!" Well, everyone liked him, so they came up with a code word. Someone who had committed adultery would say they had "fallen".

    This seemed to satisfy the old priest and things went well, until the priest died at a ripe old age. About a week after the new priest arrived, he visited the Mayor of the town and seemed very concerned. The priest said, "you have to do something about the sidewalks in town. When people come into the confessional, they keep talking about having fallen." The Mayor started to laugh, realizing that no-one had told the new priest about the code word.

    Before the mayor could explain, the priest shook an accusing finger at the mayor and said, "I don't know what you're laughing about, your own wife fell three times this week."

    Syria is now in trouble and Iran will esculate the problem. Someone is looking for a fight. What is next?

      Hey, Mama... I was wondering how you were doing.

      Iran and Syria's Assad have had extensive communications with one another. Anything to create diversion, diversity, division. My thoughts and prayers lie with the innocent and their families. God help them and us... guide our steps. That's what I pray for that the violence doesn't escalate.

    I don't think the return jab of kicking out diplomats after Syrian dipolmatic officials were booted is a surprise.
    We're all watching Russia and China. They have taken the UN hostage to keep Assad in power.
    Each day that passes, the chance for a political solution like in Yemen fades. When Syria falls into civil war and it spills over into Lebanon and a proxy war of Iran v Saudi Arabia, we'll all know the constant critics of responsible intervention, Russia and China, make things even worse when they get their way.
