18 rescued in child pornography raids, feds say

Eighteen victims of child pornography were rescued during a nationwide sweep by federal law enforcement agencies, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced Friday.

The sweep, dubbed Operation Orion, resulted in the arrests of 190 individuals, most of which were in the U.S. but included arrests in Argentina, the Philippines, Spain and the United Kingdom, ICE said in a press release. The operation took place from May 1 to May 31.

"Let this operation be a warning to anyone who would think they can use the Internet to exploit children: we are out there looking for you, we will find you, and you will be prosecuted," ICE Director John Morton said in a statement.

Morton said as children begin summer vacations, parents should pay extra attention to how much time they spend on the Internet.

"Many of the child exploitation cases under Operation Orion began with a child or teen chatting with someone he or she met online," Morton said in the statement.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all Agencies who work hard at keeping these dirty, creepy and disgusting pedophiles away from our kids. Although to tell you the truth, I always believed that these evil beings (animals is too nice a word) should get the death penalty instead of rotting away in our jails and tax payers footing the bill. It could be so much easier and I don't understand why it isn't the case. But to get back to what I was saying, the ICE is doing an amazing and admirable job , Kudos to all of you for being the heros that you are....P.S. I loved what Director John Morton says above and hope that there are plenty of them out there that think the same way.:)

  9. Ban all religions

Ban these religions who preach our youngsters to fight for God&Counrty no matter the country. Muslims killing Muslims, Catholics killing Catholics, Jews killing whatever is in their way...BAN these religions fomenting war. If they are truly God's religion they have nothing to fear from a worldwide ban on organized religion.

Many, many congratulations to the hard working International and Federal agencies in the U.S. who were involved in making these rescues and arrests. Well done - and THANK YOU! May we all have mercy and grace for the children involved - this is something they should have never had to deal with at their young age.

With regard to the perpetrators of these sickening crimes, I agree with many others in this post - they should be put down like the sub-animal perverts they are. They have no redeeming qualities and are of no use to a functional society. The victims of their crimes had no defense and (assuming they survive) must cope with this abuse, exploitation, and trauma the rest of their lives.

Prosecuted? How about we just kill these people and remove their DNA from the Gene Pool.

I will do it. Just show me the evidence, give me a gun and a Starbucks gift card. "Bang!!" One to the head and then I will go have a coffee. No problem.

    These are not human beings.

Well for one example, since 1950 Boston has had 250 child rapists dressed as church leaders. Thats just over 4 per year for 62 years. Not sure where you live, but if 4 people per year in the same town for 62 years that were in charge of huge congregations with access to hundreds and hundreds of children had acted in this manner, I bet you would call that an epedemic. Thats just one town in the USA. Do you think this is the only place where this happenes? What about other countries? Don't be so naive, there are hundreds and hundreds more that never got caught, or the victims didn't speak up. I would guess that's why people "bash" the church.

Justice (but not legal) would be 30 days in general population, letting the rest of the inmates know of the crimes and that they are getting out after the 30 days. won't last past 29 1/2 days.
