Dozens more firefighters to join effort to stop Colorado wildfire

Officials plan to more than double the amount of fire engines battling the raging wildfire in northern Colorado Wednesday in the hopes of stopping the blaze that has scorched more than 43,300 acres, destroyed dozens of structures and pushed thousands from their homes.

On Tuesday, 40 fire engines and 17 fire crews battled the blaze and were able to get it 10% contained, officials said. On Wednesday, the team fighting the blaze will grow to 100 engines and 34 crews, said Bill Hahnenberg, an incident commander.

President Barack Obama telephoned Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper on Tuesday and said his administration is already making personnel, equipment and federal grants available to the state to help in the effort.

A'course another sword I yield here is my insider info concerning molested children and how it accounts for most genuine depression (NOT bummed out to suicide b/c of money) and the skyrocketing dependance on pharmaceuticals in America, particularly antidepressants..
THIS is where I get tangled up with enablers and codependants of abusers. With those rayped as girls but didn't tell, for example. I attract them like flies! For all of my life.

What of the Camel? Why is the world, just like Colorado, experiencing uncontrollable forrest fires as never before. Is this related to global climate change, or is it just another example of mankinds pollution causing extreme weather.
Take Colorado's MILDER winters that fail to thin the pine beetle population who then run amock consuming millions of pine trees, amking them indo kindling for a tiny spark to ignite.

    None taken, Phillip.
I realize you're hooked on blogging, as well on other things.
I realize that I did call you Philip, when you were posting as another name.
    I apologise.
I won't do it anymore, just as I know you won't make fun of me for my empathy when I send out condolences and sympathy, nor pervert my name as Banazi.
    Fair enough? 🙂
And just for the record, I am NOT IGTCMNWEP.
I do thank this person, however, for trying to stick up for me and my views.

Mankinds collective footprint has left us with a deeper hole to get out of when we will have to clean up our mess.
Obama's call to Gov. John Hickenlooper , saying he is dispatching personnel, equipment and federal grants available to the state to help in the effort, is 43,300 acres too late.

And what of the other matters not related to 'Philips' person? Have you nothing to say on climate change or weather extremes? What i said as to why Colorado's forrests are kindling for fire now? Drive west out of Denver and observe entire valleys of dead trees.

Dead because water doesn't evaporate as fast as it used to. Evaporating water is the engine that drives the worlds weather. Scientific 'Pan-Evap' rates have been very accurately recorded for well over 100 years. None of this discussed by weather "experts" on TV, OR FELLOW BLOGGERS HERE.

So pat yourself on the back, already! The topic is the fire, pal, not the global conditions that may be the underlying cause. For all we know, YOU started this one by carelessly flipping a ciggy out your windo. When the Topic IS global warming, climate change, or whatever, THAT's where you will see people discussing iit. Good Lord! Lighten up, you phony!

With Romney wanting less firefighters everything should work out just fine don't you think?

Humans are pouring carbon dioxide into the atmosphere much faster than plants and oceans can absorb it. Thus; making water evaporating at a slower rate.
I also found this which seems to be a great analogy to.
Natural cycles in Earth's orbit can alter the planet's exposure to sunlight.
Which may explain the current trend. Earth has indeed experienced warming and cooling cycles.

If the sun pours out too much for the plant to absorb all at once, it would be overwhelmed to process all it.
Likewise with too much carbon dioxide for the earth to process.
    Yes?

Basically slowing down the earth NATURAL process is what we are doing. Huh? did I make sense?
      Nahhhhhhhhh
It can be found even a tiny little beetle chewing off more than nature intended.
lol, Just as we Americans chew off more food than our allotted share... to bad for the rest of the worlds' starving people.

Good thing these firefighters are volunteers,it would be hell if it were in a republican governed state fighting against collective bargaining rites for public sector employees. This state might as well had burned to the ground because nobody would show up,isn't that poetic justice being shown, how original that would be!!Letting everything burn, too bad we union firefighters are off today, call us tommorrow,we're really busy right now!!!Have a nice day!!

Agree with you, Pete, and Mr. Dalloway.
With the upswing of fires that have been racing across our nation, not would •not• be a good time to start harping on our Firefighter's benefits, and the decimation of their unions.
I sincerely hope that they can get this under control!

Do other states chip in and send firefighters in? Or do they donate the planes? The fires would be put out faster with a larger group of fighters? Just wondering.

@Obama Mama, yes, the states historicly that have forests, large wooded expanses have planes, men and firefighting equipment volunteering to come in from as far as the Canadian Rockies. It's nice to see the firefighting family putting state boundries and politics aside to save our forests,as well as our citizens residences, plus helping to save the wildlife as well. It's too bad that the weather has been so brutally dry, lightning started these fires, people being lazy and complacent cause the others, that's nothing new,it happens....

Of course. Plants have the same problems people do. Plants have even been known to commit suicide after being exposed to soft music for long periods, and then exposed to todays popular music.
ALL life and ALL energy has been altered by mankinds greedy polluting of this gem of a planet. Truly THE blue diamond in the very very rough cosmos.
