  1. Economy by the Britches

"USS ENTERPRISE CVN-65" it said on the cap of an old homeless man walking along the sidewalk as I exited the internet cafe. "Can you spare an old man a dollar for some coffee" he asked. "Sure, I said, handing him one dollar"..."Will you now spare a minute of your time for THIS old man." We chatted for a few minutes. He truly was a war vet living on the streets "waiting for my pension" he said. We didn't get into any particulars about that, but we discussed his and my grandpas service in the Navy. I don't think our economic downturn made that old man homeless. Do you?

  2. Economy by the Britches

After saying 'so long' to the old homeless war vet, I peddaled my way back to Acacia Park. Already there are several people who live in shelters at night setting up to squat for the day. (homeless shelters here require people using their services to be out lloking for a job during the daytime) Really, I can see where a person who gets looked-down on all day would become saddened and just want to squat down rather than deal with more turndowns for work. Disguised as a homeless old man, I have felt the sting of the greedy American looking down upon me even in my disguise.
    (well, off to work. bbl)

And i too have noticed how people are treated differently in restaurants especially, when they are not spiffily dressed. It saddens me. In fact i had a boss once when i was working in a diner tell me i couldnt serve someone because of appearance. I quit.
