U.S. to stop deporting some young illegal immigrants

The Obama administration announced Friday it will stop deporting young people who came to the United States as children of illegal immigrants if they meet certain requirements.

The Department of Homeland Security said the policy change will cover people younger than 30 who:

- Came to the United States before the age of 16;

- Have continuously resided in the United States for at least five years as of June 15, 2012;

- Are in school, have graduated from high school, have obtained a general education development certificate, or are honorably discharged veterans of the Coast Guard or Armed Forces of the United States;

- Have not been convicted of a felony offense, a significant misdemeanor offense, multiple misdemeanor offenses, or otherwise pose a threat to national security or public safety.

    Any "illegal" immigrant who fought for this country deserves, at a minimum, a workers visa. I also believe an alien that was brought to this country as a child, excels in school, has a clean record, and is college bound should be allowed a student visa. Parents should be handled on a case by case basis. Anyone else convicted of more than a speeding ticket should be repatriated. As you look around, some of these American born "bangers" are not worthy to be citizens of any country.

    I no longer support my collage, because they have decreased tuition for illegal immigrants. What's next what is next, decreased tuition for convicted criminals, or is it just the non convicted ones. And now, the largest publicly funded college in the state, CU, is thinking about following metro's misguided lead

    If you had purchased $1,000 of AIG stock one year ago, you would have $42 left. With Lehman, you would have $6.60 left. With Fannie or Freddie, you would have less than $5 left But if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all of the beer, then turn in the cans for the aluminum recycling Refund, you would have had $214. Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle. It’s called the 401-Keg…..

    Down South, Bubba called his attorney and asked, "Is it true they're
    suin' the cigarette companies for causing people to get cancer?
    "Yes, Bubba, sure is true,” responded the lawyer.
    "And now someone's suin' them fast food restaurants for making 'em
    fat and cloggin' their hearts with all them burgers and fries, is that true mister lawyer?"
    "Sure is Bubba. But why you asking?"
    "Cause what I want to know is, I was thinkin' can I sue Budweiser
    for all them ugly women I've slept with?"

    they talk about " horrible consequence for american unemployed" but I do not know anyone who has gotten a job just for a pretty face. They do not know how to hide their racism and their contempt to the Hispanic community without thinking about what those dedicated and smart young men can contribute to the american economy. Want to deport these young people should be embarrassing for politicians......

    Send them back. Follow protocol if you want to be a citizen. Mexico just kills the iilegals. They do things the right way and don't show guilt.

    Did y'all know the bible states in many places, that we should be kind to foreigners, because we have also been foreigners! I think that's a befitting sentiment for an immigrant nation! Talk to your grandparents or elder neighbors & you will often hear the plight of earlier immigrants! 100 years ago it was the influx of the Irish, Italian & Eastern Euopean nations that caused dissention, now it's the "Mexicans", a catchall phrase meaning "brown people"! I agree criminals should be deported, but I don't get the hatred of hard working, lawabiding families! Why all the disparraging remarks!? My personal stance is problems are solved quicker w/a positive outlook than a negative 1!!

    Are all you young voters who went gaga over Obama paying attention? Who do you think these young Illegal Aliens are going to be competing with? Us old folks? Noooo.. they are gonna be competing against YOU young Americans. Unemployment is already 54% for adult Americans under 25.. and even those adults under 25 with 4 year bachelor's degrees have a 53.6% unemployment rate. And as if things are not bad enough for you already... Obama just legalized more people to compete against you.

    I hate to break a nasty little secret to you, but in spite of all that positive self-esteem b.s. they pumped into you in school, you cannot even come close to competing against THEM where ambition, and in some cases education, is concerned.

    I wish you lots of luck... because you're really gonna need it.
    I "HOPE" this "CHANGE" is all you imagined it would be.

    Obviously the "red tape" of becoming an American citizen has shown the results we have seen for many years now. Rather than revamping the process, Obama implements a "loophole" were as you come in illegally, it's ok, here's what ya do...
    Basically saying it's ok to break the laws and here is the way around it. Why even bother having this law on the records.
