Federal agents in Minnesota are trying to solve a mystery in hopes of helping some children in a dangerous situation. Agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations are asking for the public's help in identifying a boy they believe to be in his teens seen in a Web-based video.
Asking for help in this way is unusual according to ICE spokesperson Shawn Neudauer.
“Issuing a public plea is an extraordinary step by ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations warranted by our belief that there may be young people at risk, without the ability to ask for law enforcement’s help," he said.
The child is thought to be between 13 and 19 and possibly has been in either Minnesota or western Wisconsin in the past 18 to 24 months. Agents think that by identifying the teen they will be able to help at least one other child out of a dangerous situation and possibly more.
People with information can contact ICE/HSI on their tip line at 866-347-2423 or on-line at http://www.ice.gov/tips/
Please realize ICE is in charge of Operation Predator. I hope nobody is detered from reporting about this minor due to the inaccurate comments made here. If they are asking for identification, this child is in serious trouble. I hope they are circulating this on actual Local TV News programs.
If the kid is one minute over 18 years old he is going to jail for child molesting
I agree with you Ms. Jones. I have to be a little more blunt than you and can't believe the replies to this column. To me, this teenager looks like a victim of fetal alcohol syndrome. These children have physical and developmental issues because of it. He MAY have developmental issues. This could be one of the reasons why there is a step up in this case. Both my sons go to a Special Educational Needs school in the UK and some people have no idea how vulnerable these children are. With some of these children that are in these school you wouldn't know they go to that school or have developmental issues unless you knew them. I hope that they find this teenager and thereafter are able to help more after they find him.
They ought to cut Jerry Sandusky lose. I bet he could find 'em, huh?
nah too old
Hopefully someone can help.
By the time the Obey the law unquestioning and Weeping Willows get through this teen will range from animal and child molesting terrorist, son of the devil,an angelic cherub in danger from all linds of bad things, come from a dysfunctional family of Xtian Zombies and cannables that built a nuke
Most likely?
How can anyone kmow fr this article And U 2 and look at me tube?
I am part of a few different missing persons organizations and I can tell you from my experience that this boy, and at least one other, are definitely in serious danger if the feds are asking for help in identifying this child. Please don't let your imagination run wild here- the important thing is that this boy be identified as soon as possible so that he can be found safe. ICE investigates cyber crimes, child exploitation through Operation Predator, and human trafficking. This could be a variety of situations but ICE and no one reporting on this ever thought there was a possibility that this child in the picture was putting anyone else at harm... in fact, they make it clear that this boy may be in need of law enforcement services and is not in a position to reach out for them.
He is not in any danger. The stills are from a video where he gets naked waist down and is doing stuff to his younger sis (approx 4yrs). She isn't exactly putting up a struggle either. Several things happen in the 14 min vid then at the end I think someone comes homes coz he jumps up and gets dressed. The Feds deliberately word it to make it sound like he is in danger hoping that more people might ID him. Apparently he's 15. The actual child the Feds are saying is in danger is his sis.
"Just this week, Facebook officially acquired the facial recognition service Face.com...."
Well?!
Sounds like they want to arrest this kid.
Just because he is wearing a Minnesota t-shirt? I give my nephew Iowa T-shirts and he wears them all the time... he lives in Va... The t-shirt theory isn't that great of a clue if you ask me .
oh no what does the video show happening to this child ?
That's very true...I have sent Purdue t-shirts to many of my friends across the US; doesn't mean a thing.
I sinverely hope this young man is found alive and well.
It SEEMS like they want to detain him for some reason. Notice they just kind of filibustered most of the article and all they were focused on was finding the kid. Most of these alerts have more information about why they are looking for him. I mean..that kind of info would help, right? They just cut right to the chase on this one.
So people say this boy is CLEARLY in danger because why again?
Sorry but showing me a picture and saying they want me to help identify him because he might be in a dangerous situation does nothing to make me think I should help.
Did he go alligator hunting or something? That's dangerous too.
Put a mild blasting cap in every immigrant's neck so when they overstay their visa it detonates. Problem solved. Survive seven years, above average IQ with viable employment contributing to society, you get in. Not so? Too bad, so sad, that's the price of exclusivity.
what a kind person you are!
So why is he in danger?
Are we sure that Homeland Security isn't after him for another reason? Maybe to arrest him? Not a single mention as to why Homeland Security wants this kid. If he's being abused then say he's being abused. If he's been kidnapped why not say he's been kidnapped. Something seems fishy here...
Use whatever sense there is in your head people. The fact that the Homeland Security department of Immigration and Custom Enforcement is wanting to identify him doesn't mean they want to arrest or detain him. They want to RESCUE him from people who may also have other children. Stop and think for a minute about what might be happening to a group of children if ICE is the agency looking for them. Child trafficking comes to mind. And do you really think that the reason they think he's in Minnesota is because of a flippin' T shirt? Dang people are stupid sometimes.
Why can't people just try to help instead of hearing every detail that could harm this child or others? When they do have every detail they take it and make bigger fools of themselves.
