Federal agents seek help in identifying endangered teen
Federal agents in Minnesota are trying to solve a mystery in hopes of helping some children in a dangerous situation. Agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations are asking for the public's help in identifying a boy they believe to be in his teens seen in a Web-based video.
Asking for help in this way is unusual according to ICE spokesperson Shawn Neudauer.
“Issuing a public plea is an extraordinary step by ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations warranted by our belief that there may be young people at risk, without the ability to ask for law enforcement’s help," he said.
The child is thought to be between 13 and 19 and possibly has been in either Minnesota or western Wisconsin in the past 18 to 24 months. Agents think that by identifying the teen they will be able to help at least one other child out of a dangerous situation and possibly more.

Did you consider that their discretion is due to the privacy of the child? If this boy is being vicitiized, would he would appreciate that being broadcast nationally so that people would recoginize him and know the exact nature of his abuse?

You're probably right...international situation and most likely related to child predators. However, it seems a little obvious that this kid is here illegallly, otherwise we would be looking at all internationals with a passport for identifying this kid. So if he is illegal, how did he get here...and are there more in his wake? Why is it that ICE is so interested in finding this kid versus deporting all of the other illiegals? Would'nt it be great if ICE did this for all of the other illegals? Can you imagine...our televisions overwhelmed by illegals while America silently slept? Hey kid...go home! That isn't a sports team shirt that you can get anywhere, that is a shirt we locals see all the time. If the kid isn't living in MN, he has been here recently or someone who knows him has. Anyone with brains knows what this is probably about, let's stop bickering and get the word out, I sent it to all my MN/WI contacts.
I understand that the government may withhold details of why they are seeking this person to protect his privacy, but without those details I have no ability to trust the government. I've never seen this kid before, but, if I had, you can rest assured that the last person I would tell would be the federal government. At least not unless I knew why they wanted him. It does say ICE is involved, so what, do they just want to deport him or something else I wouldn't approve of? They could tell us something about why, without giving so many details they invaded his privacy.
Exactly why is this kid in danger? Total lack of info. What, did his.serial killer killer dad cut him to pieces? Is his mom related to Casey Anthony? Is his girlfriend a psycho? Did the local priest kidnap him? Is some gay pervert telling him to put tje lotion on his skin before he gets the hose again?

I can think of numerous other scenarios for the Feds to want information on this young man. For example: Finding this kid may lead them to a wanted terrorist or other type of criminal. He may be the relative of some high ranking Government functionary that ran away. He could himself be a wunderkind hacker wanted by the Feds. The list is endless if you think about the possibilities. And, yes, saving him from a pervert is on that list too.
honestly i think people would be more inclined to help out if they were so secretive about it. It doesnt give a single reason as to why people should look out for him so a week from now no one will even remember his story.
He very well may be suicidal. I've called the cops on people attempting suicide (following their blogs), but unfortunately they have no way to track them down because I can't pin down enough pertinent information. It's a real problem with the internet because as long as you don't divulge any personal information, you can chronicle your degradation into suicide without interference, and the other party is only able to watch helplessly. This young man may be in a severe state of distress, and they may want to help him with no way to help him.
Also, because there possibly may be a minor involved, they cannot divulge personal information. How would you feel if your personal information was given out without the proper information.
The ICE is actually interested in arresting this boy for posting a nude video of himself.

i think the laptop theory is pretty spot on. clearly the information they do know about this supposed "danger" is not being released because if it were then the public would be less inclined to help. bottom line is they obviously know what danger he's in since the photo is a still shot from a web video and they have a reason for not releasing it.
