North Korea slams use of its flag in U.S.-South Korean military drills

North Korea has reacted angrily to the use of its flag during live-fire drills by South Korea and the United States, calling it "a grave provocative act."

The comments from Pyongyang on Sunday came after the allies held military drills last week less than 50 kilometers (30 miles) away from the North Korean border, involving more than 2,000 military personnel.

An unidentified North Korean foreign ministry spokesman accused South Korea and the United States of firing "live bullets and shells" at the flag, according to a report by the state-run Korean Central News Agency.

The act was "the most vivid expression of their hostile policy," the spokesman said.

The North Korean flag was put on an elevated hill but was not directly used as a target during the exercises, an official for the South Korean Defense Ministry said, declining to be identified.

"It was used only as a symbol of North Korean territory and the drill was a defensive one," he added.

US foreign policy is regime change, it is as Bush liked to say an "OR ELSE NO IF ANDS OR ABOUTS TO IT.
That the US can do so without fear of harm shows just how powerfull US military is, and while this power is paramount of nationalism to its citizens the hubris of placing another nations flag and attacking it borders on childish.
The leadership within US are indeed the biggest baddest dudes on the street and the dangers to our personal libertys by their hubris is very real.
Cannot talk of the targets of our power as no one in US wants to talk of consequences to them, prefering to ignore others humanity,

I am fairly sure SK looked upon firing on that island as an act that was “the most vivid expression of their [NK's] hostile policy".

With the plethora of names around that you could possibly steal, why do you insist on stealing the same people's ID's over and over?

Well I guess it's time for me to start a war. That guy over there raised his eyebrow at me.

That sounds pretty ridiculous doesn't it ? It doesn't sound any more ridiculous than what these world leaders are saying.

Good afternoon to you sweet lady. How are you doing ? Debby hasn't caused any problems here so far. It's mainly drowning Florida, just mainly gusty winds here. The troublesome point with her is she has now stopped dead in the water. That is what I don't like to see. When they do that, they have more of a tendency to build more strength. On top of that, it really can raise the annxiety levels of those waiting to see what it will do next.
But as always, just taking it all in stride. It's not like I haven't been there before.

And also I need you to explain something to me since you live out there.
The SCOTUS just shot down most of Arizonas immigration law, yet the governor is claiming a victory. What the heck am I missing here ?

@bobcat (in a hat)©, I am so glad that you are okay down there. Hope Debby just dissipates out in the Gulf. There are so many conflicting reports coming out about the SCOTUS decision and JB's declaration of victory. My take away is that it is considered legal for the police to check immigration status on people who are pulled over and the Governor is saying that is a victory. I'm sure there will be more to come on this. Keep safe!!

EVERYONE WINS!!!!??? This is why WE cannot figure things out! RIGHT. Our "elected children" always think that WE won't be able to figue out win, loose, tie, or be able to figure out how to decipher their "ESE". As in attorney-ese, legal-ese, political-ese, double-triple-ese english. These people cannot write a single sentence without getting into the "ESE" of it. K.I.S.S. – Keep It Simple Stupid!!!!

Yes shooting at their flag should tell them something, having one nuke is not enough.
No one in world believes that N. K. would invade the south, not even S.K..
That both N&S like to play the" catch me if you can game" that now and then sends cannon fire back and forth, it is just the kind of games military men like and diplomats and leaders on all sides can indoctrinate their own peoples into the evils of the "other".
Contrary to US officials there never has been any proof of N K being cause of sub sinking, the Faux news and Weeping Willows though seem to not read news from outside nation.
