Ship carrying 150 sinks in Indian Ocean

A ship carrying about 150 people has sunk in the waters between Australia and Indonesia, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority said Wednesday. Two merchant vessels are trying to rescue people where the ship went down, about 107 nautical miles north of Australia's Christmas Island, the authority said.

Come to Arizona. There was an article in the newspaper about illegals and hospital care. Also, I have been in the employment office helping a friend with her resume and you see the number of illegals (they couldn't speak English, they were young, you fill in the blanks) who were receiving food stamps and the number of children they were either holding or who were hanging onto their skirts. Oh, and lets not forget the number of Mexicans, holding up signs for help with funeral expenses because they can have many babies but can't get death benefits for them. It's a dollar a month people! with Gerber.

another boatload of muslim refugees heading to Australia! you Aussies had better beware if you feel sorry for ALL of them and let them in with no conditions. in 2 generations Australia will become just another middle east hellhole. (yes, I know exactly where Australia is on a world map). and this incident brings up the questiion: why do the muslims head to Australia and not stay in Indonesia? is there something disagreeable about the muslim countries they are fleeing or something in Indonesia they don't like?

For all of you posting comments about "refugees" (?) and a bunch of racist stuff, it only stated the location, and the number of people on board. For all we know, the ship could have been coming FROM Australia, or any other number of places, and going who knows where. There is no need to make far-fetched assumptions and accusations.

Regardless of one's views on immigration, the loss of human life is terrible.
@ Philip, on the topic of disasters:
I read of the spreading fire and evacuation in Colorado Springs. I hope that you don't lose anything. Take care of yourself.

Wow, i cant believe all this garbage im reading, that you people consider worthy posts. This article ONLY states *there were l50 people on a ship that sank near christmas island.* So for all we know it could be a cruise ship carrying Americans! Sheesh.

It is not unreasonable for posters to assume that this ship was quite probably on a voyage similar to that of the ship that capsized in the same area a week ago.

A lot of supposition for such a small article.
    Chrissy is correct.
I hope the rescue efforts are succesful; the heartbreak of the families must be enormous.
