Millions still without power amid record heat wave

It may be near the end of the week before power is restored to some of the millions of those lacking electricity following weekend storms as another day of sweltering temperatures was forecast for much of the nation Monday.

The intense early-summer weather has baked areas from Missouri to New York to Georgia with record-breaking heat and unleashed fierce storms that knocked out power over the weekend. At least 16 people were killed from the series of storms.

While the mercury Monday was forecast to stop short of the century mark in many areas, high temperatures will still approach 100 degrees and will definitely be in the 90s for most of the eastern two-thirds of the country, according to CNN meteorologist Sarah Dillingham.

It is misery to say the least. I do so feel for those folks and pray that relief comes to them soonest.
Just think of millions around the world who go on living like this , misery in summers, misery in winters.

I hope that there are emergency measures in place for our nation's vulnerable.
They had to evacuate a large retirement center here...
    Thankfully, nobody was injured.

Now Arizona is experiencing an 8,000 acre fire that is at low elevations and parts of the Coronado National Forest is closed. Had we heard about this on the news media, we would not have gone that way to go hiking.

@banasy©, I am fine my friend. We got an early start before the temps hit their high point. Coronado is a massive forest but the concern is the fire is at a low elevation. Thank you for thinking of me.

There are many struggling out there with the heat. We pray for you and your local power company.
Our circuit finally was repaired and came back up last night about 6:30p. It was of since last Friday.
Threw out absolutly everything in the fridge and freezer. Not taking any chances. I don't think the sanitation pick up wasn't too happy today. Still have wind damage to fix on the house, from the tornado that crossed over the ridge.
