I have explained many times that I saw my first TV when I was in the 3rd grade. We didn't even have electricity before that. And that as soon as our family could afford one, a TV replaced our fireplace. I did watch some TV UP UNTIL i moved out at 15. Since then, I've never owned a TV. Everyone and everywhere else has though, so TV IS KIND OF HARD TO MISS THESE DAYS.
Relax, Philip, it was just a question.
In other words, you watch it elsewhere.
Well and good.
This is what banasy asked: "I am curious, Philip, and I have wondered this for some time:
You say you don't own a TV; do you watch things like this on your computer?" banasy didn't ask WHERE you watch it, jeez, lay off the crabapple stew!
I enjoyed all the after posts. Great posts@saywhat, Mary, banasy, dazzle, and philip. coombyya.
Thanks Mamma, Haven't had a chance to read yours but will tonight. Have a great afternoon all.
See you later, Mama.
As bobcat would say, "embrace your inner calm"...
Kumbaya works just as well...
Ohhhhhhmmmmm...lol
Thanks @saywhat. And now, tell us a little about yourself since they only ask about me. 🙂 Really, I'd like to know more about you myself.
And really, what's on tv now, nothing as far as I can see but the same old boring programs with laugh tracks, not to mention repulsive violence, superficial HGTV, and S@x. It's much more exciting to read. It really is nothing.
You're right; tv really has little to offer these days!
I rarely watch it; too many "reality shows" that are scripted...
I used to watch TV to *escape* reality...I *live* reality...lol!
Yeah, TV generally stinks these days.
We already knew that I watched it elsewhere, knowing I never owned one. So, no. *you watched it elsewhere* is not the solicited response. As in, if I were to have simply replied "I watch TV elsewhere", my answer would be evasive and not forthcoming...certainly not an answer looked forward to.
It was a question, nothing more and nothing less, one that saywhat also shared in curiosity.
And no, I didn't know you watched it elsewhere, otherwise I wouldn't have asked the question.
Relax.
It was a harmless question.
You answered it.
Chicago is real now? he he
Where'd ya go @saywhat. Don't leave me in this sea of woman to be thrashed as a wave driven by seas of estrogen and hormone whipped-up with fists once clutching spatulas. 🙂
Chicago is...something else, that's for sure!
I can still wield a mean spatula, lol...
lol...phillip i believe eggs beaters are much more efficient
Don'worry@Philip had to pop out for a while. You are in the company of finest of them there ladies, tip your hat and enjoy the onslaught of wit , humor and some finely honed feminine intellect.
As for me, as I said earlier just an ordinary American, rather given to the ways of the old, craving for a more livable world for all.
Good day all.
Saywhat:
You are the consummate diplomat!
It is always a pleasure to read your posts.
I,too, long for a simpler time...and a better world.
Have a great afternoon and evening, sir.
By Coombyya- I meant we all got along today..........and then comes the night.............................Is it a full moon? lol
I know what you meant, Mama...lol...
I like that word "coombyya, has a feeling of unity when a whole bunch of people shout it out, doesn't it ? LOl
Have you ever sat around a fire and sang the song, coombyya, my lord, coombyya.....................Fires are mesmerizing....
Have you ever sat around a fire and sang the song, coombyya, my lord, coombyya...Come by here lord, come by here.
Someones crying lord, someones laughing lord, someones praying lord, someones sleeping lord,
It is a black spritual song.
I've sang that song many times with friends around a bonfire...at the beach...late at night...sublime!
Oh, Lord, Kumbaya...
Now, of course, we would be rounded up and thrown in the pokey.
Ah the 70's.
Let's link hands, shall we, Mary and OM?
@philip- as far as TV, you are not missing much.
Philip doesn't own a tv...but he watches it. He's right. They're everywhere! I don't own one either, but Best Buy is sure getting sick of me changing their channel...LOL...how am I gonna buy one if I don't know if the shows I like are going to look good? LOL
Marzi:
I don't think that's what he meant when he said he watches elsewhere...lmao!
@OM:
I'll let Philip answer that...but somehow I don't see him looking in shop windows like we did when we were kids...saying "Hey, put on the History Channel, please?" lmao!
(I only ever watch their specials anymore; reality tv has hit them, too. 🙁 )
Yep, slow news night, all right...
When are they going to get rid of the whiny-looking Rep's picture above? Look at him. Wah wah wah.
@Marzi-prelude to November ya think? Wah
President Obama 2012
Kumbyah was also sang by Peter, Paul and Mary.
Ah!
Peter, Paul, and Mary!
They also sang one of my favorite 60's songs: "Leaving On A Jet Plane".
I still remember all the words...
"Puff The Magic Dragon", too, innit?
@ Obama Mama, LMAO Yeah they can be mesmerizing. Do Do Do Do ... Do Do Do Do ...
Watch the pendulum swing back and forth ... Now repeat after me ...
" It's all in my mind ... It's all in my mind"
You're too funny
Nite all
A little Twilight Zone action, Mary, lol?
Good night.
