Syrian ambassador to Iraq defects, opposition says

Syria's ambassador to Iraq, Nawaf al-Fares, has defected from the Syrian government, two opposition Syrian National Council members told CNN Wednesday.

Al-Fares is the highest-ranking diplomat to defect since the uprising against the al-Assad regime began last year.

    ah, Noam Chomsky. Yes, I enjoyed the youtube videos and yet have to read an article or book by him. I found the lectures and his presentation given understandable without that usual nose in the air that other professors have, refreshing.
    It has been said my times from our POTUS and that of Prime Minister netanyahu... "The ties between Israel and the US will not be broken" (paraphrased) that alone shows the connection goes deeper than anyone can imagine.
