Is this what it takes to turn the movie off? I was afraid so.

I really hope this guy didn't get these assault rifles from the Fast and Furious operation.

Brian and 1centFree, you touch on an interesting point. The "stand your ground" law gives people basically a free pass to shoot whoever they want. In Texas it is mostly used by racists to provoke minorities with racial taunting and if they face a beatdown suddenly they are "standing their ground" or whatever. It's really sick, people are literally getting away with murder.

At least this shooter guy, despite being a murderer, clearly wasn't a coward like that.

Then what do you call a person tossing in smoke/tear-gas bombs – into a dark walled-in room, of men-women-children, and letting them initially think it was part of a promotion for the movie? That Sir, defines Coward.

Your comment is off topic and just one more attempt to push you own agenda forward.

You're completely wrong, Stand your ground doesn't give someone the free right to shoot people, nor does it apply outside of protecting your own house. Quit trying to twist the facts around and scare people of the stand your ground law. The things you've said are absurd, and 100% not true.

What were babies and small children that should be home in bed doing in a movie theater after midnight? Can't these selfish parents put the kid's needs first for a change and either get a babysitter or go the next day? Do we need to impose a curfew law for small children in order to protect them from their own parent's selfsh nacissim?

While you make an interesting point about children, it is not against the law to take your children out at anytime of day or night, especially as parents. No parent would ever think that someone would shoot or kill them in a movie theater, which could just as well have happened in broad daylight!. Let's not get ridiculous regarding policing when children are not allowed out simply because of the time of day or night, especially when accompanied by parents or adults.

That would my questions. Young kids don't need to be out at that time of night – dumb parents.

Pray for the victims, pray for the first responders who did a tremendous job but vilifying firearms is not the root of this. Granted, this guy was screwed up big time given how he was dressed and had an agenda. Other means could have been used with the same results but I want to know why Obama cancelled meetings post-event? Time to put the UN ban to paper and screw us legal arms owners? Us legal SANE arms owners should not be punished for this. The bad guys will obtain weapons no matter how deep we ban them... Someone should have taken him out if the situation opened. Isn't CO a CCW state?

I find it weird that the "gun control" lobby screams loudly when a gun is used to commit a crime, but when stabbings occur from a knife, or a car is used as a weapon, there's no lobby screaming to take away the knives and cars. We kill thousands of people every year on our highways, deaths most of which are senseless. This was an unfortunate incident caused by a person possessing a variety of weapons. I'm more interested in the chemical weapon, the incendiary devices, and the booby trap that was laid for investigators. He came prepared to defend against less-determined people who might try to stop him with small arms while retreating, he used a chemical weapon to suppress resistance, and he knew how to take advantage of the expected surprise by making his attack look like it was part of a special performance for the movie opening. This looks like terrorism to me, and I hope the attacker gets charged to the fullest extent.

So CNN now invented a Remington 870 in 17 GA. Get the story straight before you insert your foot into your uneducated mouth. Reporters have a DUTY to report correctly. What else is wrong in this tragedy that they screwed up? Trivial but what the hell does it matter what part of the movie was playing when he pulled this horrid act? Facts, Details, No bias please.

Evil man, evil act. Innocent victims. Children for Christ's sake. Whoever or whatever made him stop shooting is nothing less than a miracle. Let this be a lesson to us all, we are never safe from the evil one man can decide to embrace.
