Nine athletes banned for doping offenses
A total of nine athletes, including Olympic bronze medalist Nataliya Tobias, have tested positive for "sophisticated doping" offenses, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) has confirmed.
Six of those athletes were caught using a new "biological passport" method, which builds up a profile of each individual over a prolonged period of time.
The remaining three, including Tobias who came third in the women's 1500 meters in Beijing four years ago, were suspended after further analysis of samples they gave at the World Championships in Daegu last year.
"Today's announcements underline the IAAF's continued and unwavering campaign against doping in athletics," IAAF President Lamine Diack said in a statement on their official website.
"They demonstrate the IAAF's commitment to use advanced methods to detect doping and to enforce increased sanctions when justified.
"We will not stint in our resolve to do everything in our power to eradicate cheating."

I don't understand why all these people aren't using the methods Lance Armstrong has been actively pushing (according to the US Anti Doping Agency).
1. It is completely undetectable
2. It apparently guarantees a gold medal (7 of them or so I'd say)
You just have to learn from Lance's mistake: Don't win too much, it will mean you're guilty even if you've never used anything.
lance had virtually endless funding. he could afford the best. Most of these athletes struggle t p ay their bills and drugs are the last thing they can afford. And maybe they have a conscience as well
...and you need to inform yourself a little better before spouting off.

I am "SHOCKED,SHOCKED" to find out the Russians along with others countries be involved with DOPING(CHEATING)!
Shocked? No. Surprised? No. This is the expected norm with athletes now adays. You cannot call yourself a true athlete unless you dope at least once.
The answer is simple. Have a "Special Doper Olympics" just for dopers.
This way they can make thier own special dope records. They can make thier own dope standards.
Best of all, whosoever is caught competing in the "Special Doper Olympics" that is not on dope, will be immediatley disqualified.
Keep the dopers "out of the Olympics".

When the Russian team walks into the olympic stadium it is always hard to tell the difference between their male and female athletes. Any bets that the three russians caught doping were all women?
