Hiring picks up, but unemployment rises
Businesses stepped up their hiring in July, but the unemployment rate ticked higher anyway.
Employers said they added 163,000 jobs in the month, according to a Labor Department report released Friday, much better than the 95,000 jobs economists had forecast.
But at the same time, the unemployment rate unexpectedly rose to 8.3% as households claimed they lost 195,000 jobs.
The government's monthly jobs report comes from two separate surveys: one that looks at company payrolls, and the other that questions households. Those two reports went in opposite directions in July, confusing the overall reading on the job market.
According to the employer survey, the public sector continues to be a drag on overall hiring. The government cut 9,000 jobs in the month, while private businesses added 172,000 jobs.

Actually, it's time for the CIA to examine OUR tax returns. And they have been for years, count on it.
Soon, instead of a letter from the IRS, two men dressed in business suits wearing dark sunglasses will just walk through your front door. 700 CIA agents were called home to Denver from Iraq just a couple of months ago for this very purpose.
If you have been defrauding US, YOU ARE ALREADY BUSTED. There is still time for you to STOP and make arrangements to pay US back what you have stolen before the CIA comes not knocking.

See I heard they brought those CIA agents to Denver because an alien space craft was found nearby and it was full of elite members of the Chinese and Ugandan militaries who were actually working with Aliens and Mountain Trolls to bring down the USA from under ground, literally. It would be bs if that were the case. The government already ignores 2 different supreme court cases that clearly state that income is a measure of financial increase, and wages are an even exchange of money for labor. You lose you time and energy in exchange for money, thus not income, thus not taxable. But or government is noting more then thieving fascists

Looks like all those additional fast food, telemarketing and collections jobs didn't really help the unemployment picture. Stock market is doing well but that's because corporate America manufactures everything overseas, the market no longer reflects the American economy/state of affairs. Don't worry though, the trickle down effect will kick in anytime now.....just wait for it.....

I've been unemployed two years, my unemployment ended four months ago. What roster am I on?? NONE! I'm no longer counted. No, I'm not on welfare. I've never asked for a handout in my life, and I won't start now.I love my country, but distrust the government.
Stop whining. It's not the govt's responsibility to get you a job. You obviously have no skills, and should have invested in a field that had a better future.
There are jobs out there, but people refuse to move, or simply won't work.
Blame yourselves. You didn't plan ahead. You bought the big houses and cars. You bought all the imports and caused jobs to go. You kept buying into the political blame game while both parties were doing the same thing to this country.
College grad over here who keeps getting rejection email after rejection email without even the prospect of an interview. Most of the jobs being posted are not for us. We're either over qualified or we lack real world experience, in employers' opinions. :SIGH:
