Today's programming highlights...

12:00 pm ET - Mars rover post-landing briefing - The Curiosity rover successfully landed on Mars this morning, and NASA and JPL officials are celebrating.  Two briefings on the landing and mission will take place today - the first at noon ET, with the second at 7:00 pm ET.

1:05 pm ET - Obama signs veterans bill into law - Before getting back on the campaign trail, President Obama will sign the Honoring America's Veterans and Caring for Camp Lejeune Families Act of 2012.

6:55 pm ET - Obama in Connecticut - The president will spend part of his day in Connecticut, where he'll speak at a campaign fundraiser in Stamford.

    You have to accept that there are certain things you won't understand right away. Sector Seven is a special access division of the Government, convened in secret under President Hoover eighty years ago. You might remember NASA JPL lost the Beagle 2 Mars Rover? We told them to report the mission a complete failure. It wasn't. Beagle 2 transmitted for thirteen seconds. And now, Curiosty provided a similar thirteen second transmission before we lost contact. This was all classified ABOVE top secret... (Cue epic music)
