France: Rioting in Amiens leaves police hurt, buildings damaged

Sixteen police officers were injured in violent clashes with young people in the city of Amiens in northern France overnight, authorities said Tuesday.

Three public buildings were also badly damaged during several hours of disorder, CNN affiliate BFM-TV reported.

Amiens Mayor Gilles Demailly told BFM that the damage amounted to millions of euros.

The scene in the wake of the disorder was one of desolation, he said.

Images from the neighborhood showed burned-out cars and the charred wreckage of a kindergarten and a sports center.

Clashes were reported in the same area Sunday night, BFM reported. The latest violence, involving about 100 young people, broke out late Monday evening and carried into the early hours of Tuesday.

    "Young people": Is that the new euphamism for unassimilated ethnic Algerian immigrants? Take a close look, America, for this is the future of California, New York, and the other melting pots. France has ten percent unemployment, Amiens eighteen percent, with the economy growing at zero percent the last three quarters. When there's not enough for federal handouts to the unassimilated Californian immigrants, it will look like this. Og, gee, Anaheim already does.

      Good Luck France! Vive La France! You love those White Muslims from North Africa and Levant States. You ignored and neglected those suffering Indochineses (Cambodians, Laotiens, and Vietnameses) in the refugee camps for USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to pick them up. Well we are yellow Asians assimilated very well into the English speaking countries and became very productive for the host countries (USA, Canada, N.Z, and Australia).
      Well good luck with your White Muslims and how many more do you want to rescue them? There are plenty more in Mali, Aghanistan, Pakistan, Palestine, and Iraq.

    The immigrants are not the only ones benefitting off of welfare in california. Look at the anglos or other races in more rural locations. Youll find that things are not what you perceive them to be.

      Pin every woe in every country on the unknown who emigrate there...
      Although there is some validity to that, there are reasons far and why as to why people in general are ill-content.
      Time to start focusing on those reasons...

Algerian kids resort to violence pretty much every summer because they have no marketable skills or work ethic to obtain and keep employment with, and yet your first impulse is to make excuses for them.
