God Bless You Hal David, RIP.
i love those songs...
WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW IS LOVE
What the world needs now
Is love, sweet love.
It's the only thing
That there's just too little of.
What the world needs now
Is love, sweet love-
No, not just for some
But for everyone.
Lord, we don't need another mountain;
There are mountains and hillsides enough to climb.
There are oceans and rivers enough to cross,
Enough to last 'til the end of time.
What the world needs now
Is love, sweet love.
It's the only thing
That there's just too little of.
What the world needs now
Is love, sweet love-
No, not just for some
But for everyone.
Lord, we don't need another meadow;
There are cornfields and wheat fields enough to grow.
There are sunbeams and moonbeams enough to shine.
Oh, listen Lord, if you want to know!
What the world needs now
Is love, sweet love.
It's the only thing
That there's just too little of.
What the world needs now
Is love, sweet love-
No, not just for some but for everyone.
No, not just for some but for everyone.

Lyrics by Hal David
Music by Burt Bacharach
What do you get when you kiss a guy?
You get enough germs to catch pneumonia.
After you do, he'll never phone ya!
I'll never fall in love again!
What do you get when you fall in love?
You only get lies and pain and sorrow,
So for at least until tomorrow,
I'll never fall in love again!
Forever missed and never forgotten. Goodbye, Hal.
The reporter forgot to include another great classic that he composed with Burt Bachacrach, "One Bell Less to Answer" recorded by the 5th Dimension. He was one of the greatest and most prolific lyricists of pop music. It is a shame we know very too little about him as oppose to the music partner. .
OMG!
I love love love that song!
Another one of my Karaoke songs...beautiful!
I don't have any one in particular. I love them all.
Ah, yes...Herb Albert and the Tiajuana Brass.
Lovely!
@dazzle:
I run the gamut with the different songs I sing, but the crowd is always receptive to my croonings...if I buy a round first, lol...

Special man he was, and notice this string is trolless (so far)
Oh, faux dazzle, please.
Go back to the tea party lingo; mildly more amusing, that.
Just have to say that this man was the last of the giants. Godspeed, Hal David
Once again, Kenny, and then you woke up.
Sorry you wasted that wet dream on your sheets instead of a living, breathing woman...or your blow up doll.
Good night, Kenny boy; wish I could say it's been real; but only *you* lie.
What a great songwriter. Wow I rememer almost all those songs and they were great. Thanks for the memories Mr. David...your music will live on forever in my heart. R.I.P.
Would would jack Kenny Rogers?
