Earthquake strikes south of Java

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.4 struck south of the Indonesian island of Java early Tuesday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey confirmed. The quake epicenter was 583 miles southeast of Jakarta, Indonesia.

    I wonder how much Romneys propaganda machine pays people to leave comments on non related blogs? I dont like either canidate but consider what Romney has in store if elected ; war with Iran, the destruction of a eco-system in Anwar, more destruction of off shore drilling platforms, the end of welfare for millions which will result in major increase in crime rates. But of course the rich will be immune to all these events. Maybe momma earth should just hit reset for the whole lot of us.

      it's sad when a statement that is paranoid and cynical – suggesting that a major party candidate is paying off people to make comments is one of the sanest ones here. It doesn't make sense all of these crazy responses to a straightforward report of seismic activity. had there been a tsunami, I'm sure it would have been reported and thank goodness there wasn't, they suffered enough in the last one. Good luck tell it like it is and earth environmental news service. I'm out of here.

    Over 400 earthquakes have shaken Southern California in the past four days. The latest aftershocks, 5.3 and 5.5 magnitude quakes, caused damages to the city of Brawley.
    This didn't happen in Haiti or Pakistan, so never mind. ty

    There were over 400 EQs in Southern California last week, with 5.3 and 5.5 quakes registered near the city of Brawley.
