Protesters climb U.S. Embassy walls in Cairo

[Updated at 5:38 p.m. ET] Angry protesters climbed the walls of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo on Tuesday and tore down the American flag, apparently in protest of a film thought to insult the Prophet Mohammed.

A volley of warning shots were fired as a large crowd gathered around the compound, said CNN producer Mohammed Fahmy, who was on the scene, though it is not clear who fired the shots.

Egyptian police and army personnel have since formed defensive lines around the facility in an effort to prevent the demonstrators from advancing farther, but not before the protesters affixed their standard atop the embassy.

The black flag, which hangs atop a ladder inside the compound, is adorned with white characters that read, "There is no God but Allah and Mohammad is his messenger," an emblem often used in al Qaeda propaganda.

It was unclear which film upset the protesters.

      1. You have NO Respect for Human Life anyway.
      2. You would not defend an American Life even if it were one of your own family.
      3. You are only repeating the mistakes of the past. Your time will also pass.

People of the United States of America,
As I watched the 9/11 Ceremonies this morning and the reading of the names by family member of those murdered at the WTC, Pentagon and PA, I realized the 3,000+ Death Toll was actually magnified by X10 in the pain and suffering of the loss to the relatives left behind.
I also watched President Obama speech a the comment that the United States is “Not at War” with Islam, he must have missed this mornings Security Briefing about Islamic Muslims in Cairo Storming the American Embassy and pulling down the American Flag and replacing it with a Muslim Flag, to be blunt, The President and MSNBC Commentators have their “Heads Up their AZZs” that they can’t see Islam is at war with the United States.

The Embassy is our property. Take that black rag down and put our Flag back. If we don't have military backup enough to protect our Embassy, take the flag and retire from Egypt since we have no further business there. I'm sure we will be going back soon. We can use the tax money taken from Americans to give these enemies to give 'em a correction.

That black flag is the flag of Al Qaeda, flown over a US embassy on 9-11. Where was Obama today? At an Arab summit grovelling and apologizing. Look it up. The marines are ordered to hide and cower as Al Qaeda support seize an American embassy. This is a complete disgrace.

Regardless of the "reason" for this barbarism, get our citizens and tax dollars out of the Mideast. Enough with the analytical excuses. Did the American victim killed today in Lybia sign a contact stating he/she would not have a problem being murdered by a primitive mob? When we will we learn? Who else will be sacrificed? Today is the anniversary of 9/11. Ironic...
Do not declare war, do not retaliate...just get the hell out and leave it to those Mideast countries in turmoil and the UN to take care of their problems. They will then not have the United States to blame. You cannot reason with fanatics. Their own governments certainly cannot.

As U.S. territory, this should have been treated as an invasion with an appropriate response. Everyone climbing over the wall should have been dropped in their tracks. Where was Obama's buddies in the Muslim Brotherhood. Aren't they responsible for protecting foreign diplomats and their sovereignty? Maybe our Commander in Chief will respond with a strongly worded memorandum to the U.N. No, he will condemn this country for offending the mob.

The USMC anthem, "From the halls of montezuma to the shores of Tripoli" is talking about Tripoli, Libya. Once upon a time America kicked ass and defeated the barbary pirates. Now marines cower as America lives are taken. God help us for electing obama the antichrist.
