NFL owner more interested in winning election than winning games

His New York Jets are struggling on the field, but team owner Robert Wood "Woody" Johnson told Bloomberg News today that it's more important to him to see Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan get elected.

Johnson, chairman of Johnson Co. and a great-great-grandson of the founder of Johnson & Johnson, is the New York state chairman of the Romney-Ryan campaign.

His Jets are 2-2 this season, and fans are smarting after Sunday's 34-0 pounding at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. Nevertheless, Johnson has his priorities. When an interviewer on Bloomberg Television's "Market Makers" asked him whether football or politics was more important, Johnson responded:

"Well, I think you always have to put country first. So I think it’s very, very important, not only for us but in particular for our kids and grandkids, that this election come off with Mitt Romney and Ryan as president and vice president.”

That might be the best news coach Rex Ryan and beleaguered quarterback Mark Sanchez will hear all week.

Well at least you are balanced CNN. You run an article saying Hugo Chavez would vote to re-elect, which is not good for President Obama. But then you run an article saying that the idot billionaire who picked Rex Ryan to run his NFL team wants Romney. I would say that is a wash.

As if Rex Ryan wasn't enough, here's yet another reason to hate the Jets.

Actually, it's not that his team has bad players, they are just all out campaigning for Obama rather than practicing because getting Obama elected is more important to them than football.

    Mr. Romney,

Maybe you should try to live like the 48% you say are not taking responsibility for their lives. I bet they would gladly trade places with you. You are someone who has never had a hungry day. I’m pretty sure some of the people you referenced in your secret meeting with deep pocket supporters like Woody have had hungry years. Maybe both of you should take a walk in their shoes. Frankly I doubt either of you would last an hour.

He's got more important issues to deal with right now. The doggone Jets' season is tanking and killing my fantasy team stats.

I recommend learning something about Mitt Romney's beliefs before casting your vote. All religions have a bit of "craziness" in them, but Mormonism is the extremism our our western world. Take a look:
