NFL owner more interested in winning election than winning games

His New York Jets are struggling on the field, but team owner Robert Wood "Woody" Johnson told Bloomberg News today that it's more important to him to see Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan get elected.

Johnson, chairman of Johnson Co. and a great-great-grandson of the founder of Johnson & Johnson, is the New York state chairman of the Romney-Ryan campaign.

His Jets are 2-2 this season, and fans are smarting after Sunday's 34-0 pounding at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. Nevertheless, Johnson has his priorities. When an interviewer on Bloomberg Television's "Market Makers" asked him whether football or politics was more important, Johnson responded:

"Well, I think you always have to put country first. So I think it’s very, very important, not only for us but in particular for our kids and grandkids, that this election come off with Mitt Romney and Ryan as president and vice president.”

That might be the best news coach Rex Ryan and beleaguered quarterback Mark Sanchez will hear all week.

    stan-da-man:
what does white guy have to do with it? I've seen white guy help black guy, I've seen black guy help white guy all the time, repeatedly??? I've seen well off minorities emplyoying all races as well as well off "whites" employing all races.

Romney has all races helping in his campaign as does Obama. I'm 47 and have never seen such racial division in this country in my life, it's getting really weird.
Makes me sad as a black citizen, seems to have gotten alot worse lately.

LOL! I thought the very same thing. An old man, privileged by being born into money he didn't earn, supports Romney/Ryan?! Gee...how so not shocking NOR newsworthy. Maybe he should paymore attention to his business. I doubt he will be any more successful at making this election go his way than he is at being successful at football.

wow , he made me a jets fan overnight- country is in a crisis and that is more important than sports. Obama travels to Vegas on 9/11 and denies it was a terror attack in Libya. Successful people and people who want to work vote for Romney. People who like food stamps and collect govt checks vote for Obama.

Just repeating what you hear on your right wing echo chambers. The real moochers vote GOP so they can make millions and pay less of a tax rate including all taxes than those on minimum wages.

Sure, I will be voting for Obama, so are the rest of the 47%. Scare tactics and stereotyping will not work in 2012. The game has changed!

I'm voting for O'bama you pretentious clown. And I work everyday and don't use food stamps. By the way, Bush and his skull and bones cronies are the terrorists who set up 9/11 in order to use the american people to take out Saddam and set up Cheneys infrastructure company. And did you know Prescott Bush, GWs granddad, was an american nazi who along with other american nazis, financed Hitlers nazi party? As a matter of fact, old Adolph couldn't have made it without them. Look how many people died because of it. Mass murder is no problem for your successful hard working people. I like the irony. Two of his sons become american presidents.

Fox News is an entertainment news station. When did you ever see Bill O'Rielly in afghanistan? Hannity in Lybia? Meghan Kelly in Syria? Really, when did you see them anywhere but in the studio? Never have you seen them anywhere but in the studio, real jounalistic reporting? not
