White House denies nuclear report

The White House denied a report Saturday that said the United States and Iran have agreed to one-on-one talks over Iran’s nuclear program.

Such talks, as reported by The New York Times, would be a first.

“It’s not true that the United States and Iran have agreed to one-on-one talks or any meeting after the American elections,” White House National Security Council Spokesman Tommy Vietor said in a statement.

“The President has made clear that he will prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, and we will do what we must to achieve that. It has always been our goal for sanctions to pressure Iran to come in line with its obligations. The onus is on the Iranians to do so, otherwise they will continue to face crippling sanctions and increased pressure."

Citing an anonymous senior official within the Obama administration, The New York Times reported earlier Saturday that Iranian officials insisted the talks not start until after the presidential vote.

Secret discussions between U.S. and Iranian officials date almost to the start of Obama’s term, the newspaper said.

Iran says its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and to fill energy shortages, but Western leaders believe Tehran is an aspiring armed nuclear power. U.N. inspectors have also expressed doubts about the program's aims.

When you came in the air went out.
And every shadow filled-up with doubt
I don't know who you think you are
But before this night is through
I wanna do bad things to you.

I'm the kind tio sit up in his room,
Heartsick and eyes filled-up with gloom
I don't know who you think you are
But I know this much is true.
I wanna do bad things to you..
    he he, not really.

There were select and few of us
In the back seats of that wayward bus
They weren't gonna do a thing
That weren't what who they are
And rather look upon a star.
Dust on the windowsills and candy in the jar,
I'd rather gaze upon a star.
    see? easy peasey.

  6. Send Them A Nuke

Eventually, they are going to get a nuclear weapon. So, why don't we speed up the process and send one to them via air delivery.

  7. Hide Behind

When does one know when a liar speaks the truth.
Obviouly we cannot for we regurgitate the words from their mouths as if they were the truths no matter what they say and vote for the one who we think lies the least.
And so we become a part of the lies, as unworthy of trust no more than the liar in whom we trust.

Make that "an anonymous senior official in the Obama administration bribed by Republicans". The NYTimes is highly irresponsible in reporting on this issue based on a single anonymous source at this time. Anonymous sources are always suspect and should only be used in matters of the gravest importance when the possibility of obtaining information from named sourcesand public records is next to nil. This is not one of those cases. Even if it is true that the Obama administration has had discussions with Iranian officials, no public action has been taken as a result. This reporting only serves to inflame passions and raise questions in the final days of a close election.

You mean as irresponsible as Reid when he said to the nation that he had gotten an anonymous call from someone who told him that Romney had never paid federal taxes and then proceeded to call Romney a thief and a tax evader...is that the level of irresponsible that you're referring to or is it not???

If this agreement turns out to be true, then it is for sure that obama (if reelected and that's a big if) plans on selling Israel down the river when it comes to preventing Iran from getting a nuclear weapon...nice to know ahead of the election!!!

You can count on the republicans looking into the veracity of this memo...and if true...then Obama might as well resign today!!!

Unlike you Democrats who boast loudly behind your pseudonyms, the fact is this Canadian will be proud to say that the story was created by the White House administration and then is "denied." Come on CNN, between the White House administartion and the mainstream robot outlets like yourself, is this the best you can do? What's next, giving Obama a Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing? Thanks to the resurgence in Libya of al Qaeda, we've already seen how effective Obama has been overseas. Obama has failed the United States of America and his time is almost up in the White House. His effectiveness as a president is on par with CNN's ratings or Rachel Maddow's good looks.

Plus bringing up that Obama won the Peace Prize, man should have just left that out of you remarks. But, you do have the FREEDOM to tell it like you think it is.

So you actually think that some senior admin official told the NY Times "Listen, the Obama admin is going to conduct private nuclear talks with Iran, but hey, don't say nothing to anyone until after the election – OK NY Times?" Yeah right!
