Israeli airstrikes target militants, kill 3 in Gaza

[Updated at 10:35 a.m. ET] A third Israeli airstrike targeted a militant group and killed one person, according to security and medical sources in Gaza.

No other injuries were reported. The strike comes a day ahead of the expected visit of Qatar's emir to Gaza.

[Posted at 6:12 a.m. ET] A pair of Israeli airstrikes early Monday hit Palestinian militants in northern Gaza, killing at least two and wounding  four others - two of them critically, Palestinian faction sources said.

The strikes followed a mortar attack on an Israeli border patrol near the Nir Am kibbutz, according to a statement from Israel Defense Forces.

The IDF blames Hamas for all terrorist activity coming out of Gaza and has long targeted militants who fire mortars and rockets into Israel.

    Routine bombardment by Israeli fighter jets of the besieged Gaza with a population of 1.7 million. There are no women and children that we know of as no foreign journalist or reporter including Americans are allowed by Israelis in occupied territories.

      We keep supporting Israel for the very same reason we supported Britain during WWII. Both were fighting our common enemy, tghe Nazi Germany then and Islamists militants today.

      Saywhat... According to security and medical sources in Gaza there were no civilians involved in this incident. Are you saying that the security and medical sources in Gaza are HIDING the killed and injured civilians to make Israelis look better?

    Israel is doing what it has to do to defend itself from these terrorists. If the palestinians don't like it, then they better stop supporting hamas, and all terrorist groups. What they expect? They want Israel to just let them bombard their borders, kill inocents and do nothing. Don't the Palestinian people realize that they will never get what they want by force. Try peaceful means for a change. Dont let these terrorits run their governments and lives anymore. Those terrorists are just killer and nutjobs that need to be put away from civilization. Look at the talibans killing and torturing their own people and young girls at that. The palestinians are being held captive by these murderers and they hate Israel because Israel defends itself and wont be ruled by these terrorits like Gaza and all this countries are. Wake up Palestinians and look who is really killing you. You have a cancer thats killing you from the inside and it is called TERRORISM AND MILLITANT GROUPS. I applaud the syrian rebels for figting againts a terrorist group that they have for a goverment.
