Kennedy nephew Skakel denied parole

Michael Skakel, nephew of Robert F. Kennedy, was denied his first opportunity for parole Wednesday, a spokesman for the Connecticut Department of Correction said.

Skakel has served 10 years of a 20-years-to-life sentence for the 1975 beating death of his teenage neighbor, Martha Moxley, in Greenwich, Connecticut. He is the nephew of Robert F. Kennedy's widow, Ethel Kennedy.

Seems like the whole Kennedy clan has bad genes... why in heck would anybody want to vote for any of them?

they may have bad genes but that doesn't explain Skakel's problem. Skakel's aunt Ethel married into the family. He's like a first cousin to RFK's kids. He's not even related to JFK or his kids.

At least he wasn't already elected to Senate and driving a car over a little rickety bridge when the deal went down...

I wish the media would stop calling this creep a Kennedy cousin. He is only a cousin by marriage--not a Kennedy. But I guess without the Kennedy name, this story would not be as news worthy as if a non-famous person did this nasty deed.

He doesn't have to have actual Kennedy blood. Kennedy dandruff makes this newsworthy.

Why was he charged as an adult when he was 15 at the time it happened? If he had been tried at the time of the death, then he probably would have been tried as a juvenile. Sounds like he had an awful lawyer.

Because Libya is old news and doesn't have a famous person in the story. Get real....

This dude supposedly commited a murder at 15, wasn't indicted for 20 plus years, was tried as an adult and convicted on pretty much hearsay evidence and the fabricated information in two novels. All I can say is the Skakel family must be very much hated in Connecticut. The guy may be guilty, but they sure didn't prove it in court.
