Colin Powell endorses Obama

Colin Powell is endorsing President Barack Obama in the election.  He announced his decision Thursday on "CBS This Morning."

The former U.S. secretary of state, who served under President George W. Bush, made news four years ago when he pledged his support for Obama.  Powell recently spoke with CNN's Fareed Zakaria about President Obama's foreign policy record.

Maybe, just MAYBE, he saw the last GOP warmonger throw away tens of thousands of lives, and chose to go with the candidate that doesn't want freaking history to repeat itself....and if you're white, and you vote for the white candidate, by your OWN definition, YOU'RE A RACIST, ALSO!

Would Colin Powell be a racist if he had endorsed Herman Cain?

So, Colin Powell is a liar. Simple as that. He lied to us for Bush, and he lies to the American public now. He is just irrelevant.

He is endorsing him strictly because of skin color. Obama is our 1st bi-racial president! We havent seen our 1st black president yet! People seem to forget that little fact!

90 percent of African-Americans will vote for Obama simply because of his skin color. That includes Colin Powell. Blacks will eventually vote for blacks, no matter how impartial you once thought they were.

Republicans are a funny species. You supported Colin Powell when he was lying about the war for Bush. Along comes Obama, who ends the war in Iraq, and now you hate Colin Powell for "lying" about Obama to endorse him. And also, Colin Powell is a racist now, because there is no other reason to support President Obama except for his race, right? Man, Colin Powell's endorsement should be a litmus test – if you think Powell's endorsement is due to race, Yep, YOU sir/ma'am are a racist.

Why is it that white people can and have voted 100 percent for white presidents and other candidates for office and nobody says anything about that being racist? Over the years, this country has had numerous well-qualified black candidates for congressional, senate and presidential races but they lost because white people always threw out the race card and wouldn not vote for a black candidate – no matter how qualified he was. Why do you think we've had so few black americans in the Senate because white people will not vote their interests, the vote their race. Believe me, black people know that Obama is bi-racial but we also know that the U.S. government has historically classified bi-racial people as black – because they didn't want to accept any person tainted with a spec of black blood. You need to understand that blac people would vote for Obama if he were purple with pink polka dots – because his views and policies are more to their liking. Everyone knows that Romney is a rich, privileged guy who thinks that the government is too big and should be dismantled – do you people understand that that means your middle class jobs – fireman, police, teachers, state and government workers??? Why is it that you would vote to have your own jobs eliminated, health care plan dismantled, your children removed from your health care, pre-existing conditions reinstated, the right for a woman to choose her reproductive health care, Pell grants eliminated and so many more polcies that improve life for middle class people – is the only reason you are voting for Romny is because he's white?

Educated, common sense, served his country with honors.......they don't come any better. An endorsement from Colin Powell speaks volumes where as trump endorsing mitt is equivalent to a fart.

You're talking about Colin Powell, right? The same Colin Powell who advised GHW Bush to pull out of Iraq before victory was achieved, then 12 years later came back to the UN to sell a second Iraq war on the basis of a WMD threat he knew was fraudulent. Yeah, he's a man of real integrity.

At this point, Colin Powell couldn't sell me toilet paper if my butt was dirty.

Rick lively ...so when bin laden is killed it was the navy seals and Obama had nothing to do with it.....when 4 Americans are killed not on our soil in very unstable country it's Obama's fault? Once again if America was so great from 2000-2008
Why isn't the former 2 term president out supporting Romney? The Republican Party is sad because money is more important than people and lets not even talk about racism...

Powell is a sell-out and even after seeing what has happened to this country in the last 4 years he endorses Obama, what a fake. Or is it a race thing? Anyway you put it, its a disgrace to support Obama after the disaster in this country under his leadership

It's great to see someone who has the courage to standup for what's best for the country instead of what's best for his party. I am amazed at the number of racist remarks made by members of the GOP during this campaign. I cannot imagine why anyone of color would waste a single vote for Romney whose party views them as nothing but door mats. We, as Americans, have grown and gone past this type of backwards bigotry and racism but the Republicans seem to be locked in a time warp of ignorance. A vote for Obama will send them the wakeup call they need to clean up their act and tone down their mudslinging against members of their own party who have the knowledge and foresight to do what is right for the country instead of filling the pockets of the rich with our tax dollars.
