[Updated at 10:35 a.m. ET] Italy's flamboyant former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was sentenced Friday to four years in prison for tax fraud.
Berlusconi is likely to appeal the sentence handed down by a court in Milan, Italy. The case involved his Mediaset group and the purchase of TV rights. Berlusconi, 76, resigned as prime minister in November over his country's debt crisis, bringing to an apparent end an 18-year era in which he dominated Italian politics. Tax evasion? In Italy? No, really???
Whatever. Their courts also want to jail scientists. Don't expect much from a "country" that supported Hitler and has the Vatican within its domain...
We have a WINNER!!

He won't do any time, do they allow multiple conjugal visits in Italy?
And in other news, Mitt Romnesia continues his tax evasion schemes in America, not paying taxes fot ten years and O' yea, he's even running for president. Well, only in America!
You must be a pure MORON on your allegations and not searching the truth. He showed his tax returns on 2010 where he paid $1.9Million dollars, plus he gave 30% of his money to charity. If he did not pay his taxes, Obama would have brought it up in debates.
Just another uninformed person who supports Obama – keep living in your fantasy world.
This is interesting, I think this should serve as a warning signal to others...
I want to be a reporter for CNN... An investigating reporter
Social Justice is gorvernanc.Berlusconi sud nt b allowd 2 buy off jugdmnt;it's a deterrent.
Kevin Spacy should play the lead roll in the movie about this guy...
Please!! arrested...people of the world do not need governments anymore just an administration to provide services to the public, Politicians are nothing of value just thieves subordinating systems that could work with out.
lol..Yeah Sure Dude...
The Italians dont fool around. First there was Sophia Lauren and then the scientists who goofed the earthquake and now Berlusconi . How dare he even talk of returning to politics! I'm still waiting for the prosecuting of the 9/11ers.The airlines, the flying school people, the no-interruption of our TV enjoyment after the FIRST plane hit the towers. It certainly had to alert everyone in the second tower that got hit 25 or so minutes later,
These are the worst comments I have ever read on a news story. I hope they are all fake.
The communists finally got him. Relentless.
If he evaded taxes confiscate his accounts and his wife's and children and transfer the money to the Italian Central Bank or whatever is there.
Stop putting people in prison if he ever gets there and he will live there like a king and leave before time .. and all his family will live like kings too from stolen money.
