Harry Reid released from hospital after vehicle crash

[Updated at 7:05 p.m. ET] Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, was discharged late Friday afternoon from a Las Vegas hospital hours after suffering rib and hip bruises in a vehicle collision on a Nevada highway, his office and a hospital spokeswoman said.

The vehicle that Reid was in, one of four vehicles in a caravan going north on Interstate 15, was involved in the multi-vehicle crash around 1 p.m. PT, Nevada Highway Patrol spokesmen Loy Hixson said.

Reid was discharged from University Medical Center shortly before around 4 p.m. PT (7 p.m. ET), hospital spokeswoman Karen Gordon said. For more, check out this story from CNN.com's Political Ticker.

    I don't care what side you're on, and for the record, I am a liberal. I would never, be it Mitt or Bush, wish anyone physical harm or death if they were in an accident. What a low-class, low-brow, immature, obviously unintelligent thing to say. I'm sure the people who posted the awful things I just read here are "Christians" too. They should be ashamed and should set a better example for their children.

      I'm with you Cory. I wouldn't wish harm on anyone, but I sure wish they would shut up sometimes! Especially when it comes to women's rights, equal pay for women, and abortion. When conservative, right wingers start spouting off about my rights they sound like the taliban – old fashioned, out of touch, and just plain stupid.

    Hey Mark, guess what? There are a hundred different version of "god"... and they're all wrong! Keep praying for help instead of getting off your butt, keep imposing your idiotic ideology on those around you that you don't even know, keep blaming all your problems on other people, and keep banging your sister.

      @Jason

      You seem to have A LOT of hate building up inside you...

      There is a God, if you don't want to believe it, fine... but we have the right to believe in what we want.

      You atheist might not recognize this, but there is only one true God and His son was Jesus Christ. Anything else is a perversion of the truth.

      @Andres – The hate has been building up in me since the start of the presidential campaigning. I'm extremely mellow but the politics and hate thrown at me and my opinions by the other side has changed the way I feel about them. My father is very religious and we get along fine, but he's not crazy and he doesn't do what this Mark guy does, cram his beliefs down everyone's throat.

      @Mark – You have got to be a troll. No way you're anything but. If not then, not only are you giving your party more of a bad name, but your giving Christianity a bad name, too. Go back to you Westboro Baptist Church, nut.

      Hope Reed decides to retire. Let's bring in politicians who vote for American's first. Immigrants after America is working again. Reed voted for 1 million temporary worker visas in 2009, 2010 and 2011. Why doesn't the administration publish the numbers? Answer: The public , especially the middle class would be ourtaged.

      I'll bet Microsoft's supporters were terrified for Reed's safety. not me!

      First you spell God with a capital G and if you believe in him good. but if not, and you died...what would happen when you left this world? Do you really want to take a chance in finding, oh lets say 72 virgins? Really Obama should not kiss the hand of a muslim and not even acknowledge Benjamin Netanyahu (the Israeli Prime Minister in case you do not know)

    Why is that every time something bad happens it is God's punishment for Democrats supporting gay marriage, abortion, separation of church and state, etc. When republicans get caught , like in airport bathrooms, it is the devil causing mischief. Just how do these people know what events are god's punishment, or satan's plots, or even god's gifts. What happens if one religious nut says what happened to harry was god's punishment but another, just as nutty, says it was the devil trying to keep harry from doing his righteous duty that god has commanded him to do. which one is right? I guess pat robertson could be the judge since he has the power to affect the path of hurricanes through prayer.
