Wondering how close is fracking to that location.

There are some pretty out of the normal locations having earthquakes lately so you might be correct on that fracking assumption!

This is along the New Madrid Fault . Not out of the way. No fracking going on

The whole fracking world is quivering like an old hound passing,or trying to, a peach seed, and like a woman in childbirth man just puts their hands and minds covering their crotches.
As the lands beneath the US get hollowed out ever deeper and deeper the minds on the surface become shallower and shallower.
The fault lines become intersected by the faults of the greed of superior minds who tell the ignorant masses of helpless or hapless and mostly clueless; "Don't worry be happy.

fracking HAS no bearing on earth quakes. Learn a bit about how fracking works. In the grand scheme of things a fracked section may be 100-200 feet x a much larger area wide compared to the size of a tectonic plate. And if fracking is a reason for earth quakes, it would help prevent them by RELEASING stress.. Small quakes release built up tension along plates and actually reduce the chance of greater quakes. Which it doesnt so why argue about it. Just environmentalists with a computer. Go pick up plastic on the worlds beaches.

Someone hasn't done their homework. Fracking involves forcing liquids into the EARTH at higher pressures than the oil deposits. that allows cracks and fissures to open up and drain crude into the area being pumped. Of Course, this will caused deformation in the strata, resulting in earthquakes. You a shill of the oil companies? Your post sure sounds like the "Bagdad Bob" response they are espousing.

The Earth is doing what it has been doing in cycles from it's beginning. The New Madrid fault has a history of breaking loose and shifting every 200+ years of so. Last big shake was 1811-12 or so and leveled the little town of St.Louis and ran the Mississippi River backwards for a while. Don't believe it? Check history sources. This is just a heads up caution we've given for years. To help. Think Prepared, NOT superstisous or God's wrath. People laughed at Noah until his ship floated. Hope New Madrid creaps sllooowwwlly in the warm weather.

To say fracking has no connections to seismic movements is no more than a faith argument.
Not enough research has ben or will be done until long after the initial profits are long settled.
Seismic activity can come from many causes and not all are by massive movements of mantle plates.
Have minor seismic activity been associated with well frilling projectsYes and oil firms hod the facts for years.
If nothing is replaced for removed materials and even the practice of wayer and other chemicals to extract there is still a displacement.
You do not need earth plates moving today especially today as it is still clasdified ad too how many miles and large plus dep are our military complex's tunnels in Texas, Ok. Ark, Nev, Arizona,NM, clear into Cali Dakotas etc.
Not classified theyare there but how big is there, is.

    @Metal:
Yes I do pick up plastic bottles when I walk along the beach; why do you think that is such a demeaning action as to enter it into a difference in opinions and viewpoints as a slur upon a person.
Science now believe that even the creation of massive lakes such as China Turkey and ones that will make enen tjose massive projects pale. the creation of three different hydro projects in and bordering central africa not only contribute to climate changes but their pressure also has seismic connections.

On another note, did anyone actually FEEL it? Or did a local seismologist see his dragon ball drop and report movement of various elves? We just had a 7.7 up the street a ways (Haida Gwaii, if you're fact-checking) here in Washington. It got a tad exciting on the coast where I live with Tsunami alerts bouncing around the internet. Hawaii got the brunt of it with a 2 ft wave.

Yes here in Pac NW if one views Ore or Wa seismic monitors they dance almost continuosly.
In fact one of US largest ground swellings due to volcanic actions is located here.
What makes events such as in Tenn border region and enen the DC area is that they are infrequent events..
Again I wuestion if some events are not deliberate man made that hide behind our military cpnstruction projects.
Our Air zforce spends billions per year on sic sub surface projects; with Naval and Army right there with them
    on other parts of projects.
Where as europeans such as Swiss. Swede Norway and finland openly talk of their huge projects due to security reasons in US and the mega contracts as well, Mums the word.

Black ops has an estimated budget of 1.4. Trillion and employs some 4 million plus.
This is all off the books. Want to know what black hole our last economic disaster and over 1 billion lost on gas contracts for just afghan operations went.
The full rxtent of such tunneling is unknow but last Ark earthquake was preceded by multiples of residents mentioning cracking sounds and hums emanating from beelow ground.
Official explanation was type rocks just carry the sound better from "natural" pressure of plates rubbing.
Who knows but just one question how many not withinshadow government have reservTions for there.

Before posting a bunch of stuff about this being unusual, check the historic data. The USGS website is just a click away. But then so are the conspiracy theory websites. Click carefully.
