Two coalition troops killed in reported insider attack in Afghanistan

A man wearing an Afghan police uniform shot and killed two soldiers with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday, ISAF spokeswoman Lt. Amy Hession told CNN.

Insider attacks by Afghan soldiers and police officers - or militants wearing uniforms - have been on the rise for months.

More than 50 people have been killed in Afghanistan in similar attacks this year. The Afghan government calls the killings acts of terrorism.

The so-called "green-on-blue" attacks have triggered concerns about the stability of Afghan security forces ahead of planned NATO withdrawals in 2014.

No more details were immediately available about the gunman in Tuesday's attack.

The dead soldiers were identified as members of the Royal Gurkha Rifles - a British army regiment. Military sources said the soldiers' next of kin had been informed.

“I am saddened to report the deaths of two soldiers from 1st Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles who were shot and killed by a man wearing an Afghan police uniform at a checkpoint in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand Province," said Maj. Laurence Roche, Task Force Helmand spokesman.

“The loss of these soldiers is a huge blow to the Royal Gurkha Rifles and everyone serving in Task Force Helmand. Our thoughts are with their families, friends and fellow Gurkhas at this time.”

Don't worry. The mecenary Gurkhas are resting in piece now with an honour that any dead mecenary deserves. They got their bread and butter while serving a foreign invader and the family will get some pension for a while. Any other honourable mention is just a lip service for the glorified servitude. Don't fool yourself.

If we would just pull out of the swamp and let them go at each other it would be perfect.

Cause US doesn't care about soldiers. They want them to die so they don't have to take care of them.

What is the total dead now? CNN stopped posting the totals the day after Obama was elected.

Why kind of question is that? "How many died since Obama took office"........
Entering that country was Justified, and was done by Bush. I applauded my country's (Canada's) pitching in. The main reason soldiers are still dying in Afghanastan is because Bush decided to invade Iraq, pulling troops out of Afghanastan before the job was completed.
Not often you hear of Gurkha's (most highly decorated unit in modern warfare) being killed.

That's why they need to have a uniform accessory of the day or even better of the morning and of the afternoon. Anybody not wearing the correct accessory gets shot.

To these terrorists killing foreign soldiers is considered an honor. I expect more killings to happen before the withdrawal so all foreign soldiers should be on triple alert. These terrorists are remnants of the stone age who have no notion of the modern world, no notion of peace, no notion of humanity, no notion of appreciation for the help and sacrifice the foreigners are doing for the good of their own country.

Some would call them heroes. Wait. ALL but the invaders would call them heroes.

Anywhere, including the USofA, if the situation was reversed. But then, we got middlemen, lawyers and stockbrokers.
No wonder its so hard to find any heroes in that ilk.

I hate it when people get upset when I just try to mind my own DAM N business. It's not that I hate people who die in these events, it's just that I don't care... it's none of my business. Seriously.

Everyone said that this war belonged to Obama. How many soldiers deaths are now on HIS hands? The news people don't like to report this, but it's important that we all know before the election.

Obama and the Democrats and CNN are bragging about killing Bin Laden.
But they are quite about how many US soldiers are killed.

Let the Muslims just kill each other as that is what they will do when the US and the other forces leave. Those killed will be greeted by the 72 virgins especially chosen by Allah so it’s not all bad.

Facebook Censors Navy SEALS to Protect Obama on Benghazi-Gate

Over the weekend, Facebook took down a message by the Special Operations Speaks PAC (SOS) which highlighted the fact that Obama denied backup to the forces being overrun in Benghazi.

The message was contained in a meme which demonstrated how Obama had relied on the SEALS when he was ready to let them get Osama bin Laden, and how he had turned around and denied them when they called for backup on Sept 11.

I spoke with Larry Ward, president of Political Media, Inc - the media company that handles SOS postings and media production. Ward was the one who personally put the Navy SEAL meme up, and the one who received the warning from Facebook and an eventual 24 hour suspension from Facebook because Ward put the meme back up after Facebook told him to take it down.

    Here's what Ward told me:

We created and posted this meme on Saturday after news broke that Obama had known and denied SEALS the backup they requested.

Once the meme was up it garnered 30,000 shares, approx. 24,000 likes, and was read by hundreds of thousands of people - all within 24 hrs. On Sunday, I went into the SOS Facebook page to post something else and found a warning from Facebook that we had violated Facebook's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities with our meme. So I copied the warning, put it on the meme as as caption, and re-posted the meme to the Facebook page.

What seals called for backup? You mean guys who took the hundreds of thousands of dollars we invested in them and went...corporate? Guns for hire? Trained killers on a long business leash? Those guys?

Otherwise...what in heck are you talking about. More "info" from the right wing war mongers?
