Initial jobless claims fall

The number of people filing for initial jobless claims fell by 9,000 in the latest week to 363,000, the U.S. government just announced.

U.S. private-sector employers added 158,000 jobs in October, payroll-processor ADP says.

Good day to all my blogging buddies. I'm off to a greek festival ( OPA ) and then on to the fair for that fabulous gumbo.
I'll talk to you all later.

I'd like to know where the 158,000 jobs are, because they're sure not where I live. I've spent hours every day, over the past three months, searching every job database I can find, and applied to over 60 positions, yet I have not yet been able to land a job. With as much experience as I have in my field, this is utterly ridiculous. This gov't report is just another "massaging of the numbers' by the Obama administration, in a desperate attempt to help him keep his job.

Of course jobless claims fell. It's november now and the welfare kings n queens realize foodstamps don't buy Xmas gifts. Jobless claims will go back up come January mark my words.

You don't get SNAP from unemployment.
      Nice rant, though.

thx for completely ignoring the point. Noone unemployed gets food stamps. That never happens right? Jeez must be bliss living in a non-reality based world when more people are on "SNAP" than ever before in the history of this nation.

You had no point, other than to bash people whose lives you haven't got an inkling of...these reports are of initial unemployment claims, therefore your absurd rant is moot.

I wish people who spew this so called Obamas "socialist agenda" would get some education! Unless you understand the meaning of the word, you can't make an a viable arguement for or against! All Westernized governments have some sort of socialized policies in place that people Pay for through taxes! Look at your paycheck & realize that some of those taxes go to a fund that's supposed to be a safetynet for us all, in case of trouble, such as W's pillaging & plundering! Due to the fall out of the last admin, we are using this help, that we payed for, more than ever & has helped to stave off utter chaos & poverty! Due to the obstruction of a congress w/an agenda other than recovery, we're still using that help! But not for much longer! By Tuesday Obama will have a less hostile congress & we can actually move forward!!

Well spoken. Funny how the "Obama's a socialist" republicans will then take a deep breath and go on to spout about how he's in the pocket of the insurance companies. Apparently cognitive dissonance is now a requirement for party membership.

Republicans: If unemployment goes down 1 point, no big deal. If it goes up one point the sky is falling..

I was unemployed and when my benefits ran out I was counted as IF I got work when really I was unemployed and without benefits. Plus many people do not have anything more than part time jobs with zero unemployment insurance.. this economy sucks!
